As you can leave anytime, I don't think anyone regrets it. The last 2 months have been really good so you can see just roses here :-)Telegraph_Sam said:The obvious question to ask is: Within the "Switched to Agile" community are there any readers who have regretted switching, or has it been roses for everyone?
But just take a look back to "autumn" pages of this thread when prices where reaching 71p:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6433912/octopus-agile/p38
Some people jumped the ship, and the tone was very different.
But my general thoughts after experiencing prices from -5p to 72p over the past few months:
PROS) Agile tariff is a tool that can save you a lot of money. I always wanted to get solar/battery but comparing initial costs with a 5% saving account we're talking about 20 years to break even, so not for me. Here on Agile, costs are £0 so you can start saving straight away - how much? - I think in the recent 2 months 50% of what you pay wasn't that hard to achieve?
CONS) Some say hobby, some say a lot of fuff. If you follow daily prices, schedule things to run during cheap slots you can save the most. But a lot of people I know don't care - they do whatever they want - and save money just by chance that 21h/24h it tends to be cheaper. And it can be scary - like my wife putting some chips at 72p per kWh
- so now I tend to cook on the days I see very high/low prices - like today - under 10p at 2pm (will do curry to reheat later).
As we have only electric heating - there were days this winter when we had 18*C at home and there were days we had 25*C.. so you need to be Agile ;-)
And I guess depending on the type of person you are - if you want to save every penny then it will take a lot of your time :-D

So far only the standing charge seems to have changed to the same as flexiblegt94sss2 said:Looks like there is a new Agile Octopus April 2024 v10 -
I see that standing charge (London) rose from 36.5p to 38.7p, that's about it.gt94sss2 said:Looks like there is a new Agile Octopus April 2024 v1

For me and some others it started from midnight BEFORE you switch1 -
Perhaps I misremembered. As it started at 00:00, I thought it must have been the next day.double_dutchy said:

My average daily spend July - mid December was £1.47 (inc standing charge) changed to Agile and my highest daily bill has been £1.49 with an average of £1.07 to date. Cheapest day so far was .54p (inc standing charge) when I actually used 13.5 KwH of electricity! No regrets here, but I am probably one of the lowest users of electricity on the panet (no solar or battery back up).Debt Free Wannabe by 1 December 2027
Satisfied customer of Octopus Agile - past savings on average 33% of standard tarrif
Deep seated hatred of Scottish Power and all who sail in her - would love to see Ofgem grow a pair and actually do something about it.0 -
As a general point could I say that the value of each post is all the more relevant if it is made clear what the comparison is with - Tracker, SVR etc (where comparative figures are quoted)Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know1 -
Sorry Mikey, you re not the lowest by far My last 31 days on Agile I ve averaged £1.03 a day incl standing charges and I don t consider myself at all a stingy low user .Bill was charged at 11.58 p a kwh .No solar or battery neither as they don t really pay that much if you take in account the depreciation and that you can make £23 a month on £4k in Santander Edge 7% account .MikeyPGT said:My average daily spend July - mid December was £1.47 (inc standing charge) changed to Agile and my highest daily bill has been £1.49 with an average of £1.07 to date. I am a newbie to Agile 5 weeks ago so I expect the rest of the year I will be in for some really high days and I will easily overtake you.2 -
