Same here. I'm force exporting solar earlier in the day with the goal to minimise exports between 11am-3pm through self-consumption and recharging the battery rather than filling the battery by 11am and then exporting large amounts during the middle of the day. This strategy hopefully works both for me and for the grid.

..and car charge.. It's running on negative electricity at the moment and it would be good to maintain that record. No home battery and with cheap rates on Agile not sure it's worth it on a purely price basis.

Another idea for you moppers up of power: big oildrum full of water in your greenhouse which you could heat up with an immersion heater element for a longer season for your toms and chillies. The water retains heat well, and ties in well with April sun and late frosts.

... big oildrum full of water ...

I've considered that once or twice as an alternative to a storage heater. Much larger footprint and not exactly pretty but cheap as (a large portion of) chips.

200 litres of water heated from 20C to 60C would store 9kWh of heat. Not a huge amount, but still useful.

Ahh excellent - I shall start making a list of things to cook, and let’s be assured that the food on the go for our day out on Sunday has just changed from “let’s grab something on the go” to “we’ll take a picnic!”!

Looking at the final slot tomorrow night, it would appear to be looking fairly hopeful for Sunday as well.

I'm going to empty the battery before bedtime, set the hot water tank to heat midnight to 4pm, the electric bits of the heating to come on nice and early and stay on all day, and leave the battery empty until 2pm.

I'll do a bit of cooking, but the DW is playing up so out of action, and I don't think there's much left to wash (possibly a couple of dog beds).

Just back from a cruise around the countryside to make room for an overnight charge. I'll go to the supermarket in the morning (30 mile round trip) and then top up with the good stuff, tomorrow afternoon.
