woke up to -£1.00 already so a decent start. Just waiting for a run of slightly better negatives before getting the WM on for its second load and the DW for its first.

Only 80p here so far EH, but I haven’t put the washing on yet, and only turned the heating on at 5.30 as otherwise we get woken up by the heat. Battery is on stop, and we’re not currently generating electricity as it’s so overcast. I’m having a lie in but will put the washing on and have a nice long shower to make some space in the hot water tank shortly!

i'm not on a TOU tariff but i do enjoy reading this thread. when there's days like today it's like listening to a group of children on Christmas Morn.

What's the reason all this giveaway? Not complaining mind

Cheaper to pay people to use energy than to pay the generators to turn off, is how I understand it.

For Octopus is just passing the price they pay for electricity:
And that's negative.
Why it's negative - as @Spoonie_Turtle mentioned, I also see some further aspects - people would do all their possible future tasks - cook dinner at 1pm instead of 5pm, charge car to full avoiding future rates where it could be more expensive. It's also a perk to keep people on Agile - when prices go negative people justify to stay, they get free advertising all over internet.. but in general it's quite hard to even cover standing charge with these negative rates 😅

Ugh. Jealous of those on Agile now but too risk averse to give up the 24p kWh fix with the potential for a grim winter on the way.

i'd give Agile a try other than that we use most electricity between 4 - 7pm, and there's no getting away from that.
plus being on Feb26 v6.

Same here. We would normally switch to IOF in summer and back to Cosy for winter, but both those tariffs are currently suspended. I'm afraid of switch away from our existing Cosy tariff as we may not be able to get back on it in October for next winter, so I'm just running on solar and battery for the summer with zero import for now.
So we sit here this morning waiting for the sun to come out to boil the kettle whilst the Agile folks are opening their windows and burning electricity for fun. It's a mad world!
