more free electricity today with some 3.5 p negatives till 4 pm.today.

I have no idea why we are getting this today as the weather is fine and not especially windy around the UK .

Anyone got any idea why this is happening today ?

.Sunday s free energy bonanza was understandable with Storm Dave getting the turbines spinning fast all round the UK .I was able to use 77 kwhs gratis and collect £4.50 at the same time easily my best ever Agile bonus since I joined .Could it be a mistake by whoevers job it is to predict the power production outputs?

Looks to be a combination of a mid-level windy plus excellent solar day from what I can see.

MrEH is WFH today which is exceptionally useful in the circs. He intends sticking all electric heating on at 1230. I've already set the dehumidifier on a tapo, and he will also run WM & DW - neither will be full, but never mind, eh! Hopefully he'll also manage to get a punnet of mushrooms chopped and roasted during his lunch as well.

Handy to be able to get the gardening clothes straight back through the wash, and to be paid to do so at that!

Octoprice reckons my currently monthly average P/kWh price is sitting at -2.1p which is amusing!

I've got a feeling that a lot of new solar has come on stream over the winter. Solar was often ahead of wind in the other recent plunge days. Possibly explains the timing of the cuts in export rates.

Here we go again! MrEH was gratifying fast in getting everything switched on!

I'm quite enjoying watching our daily cost dropping via the app!

I've got everything on that I can put on, but I'm generating 10kW, the battery is full and the hot water hot! So I'm not reducing the output to the grid much at all.

Time to put in a swimming pool maybe? (Or at least, go and have a shower).

New version of Octopus Compare is a bit better .Adds up the half hour daily negatives and price paid next day better than Octopus App .Also gives upcoming advanced prices before Octopus does waiting until midnight .

    What Netexporter said!

Bear in mind though that even if you work or do a commute a modern EV will have a ~200 range which will cover an awful lot of people. Those with a greater need will have higher ranges, possibly a company car.

These last few days I haven't benefited as much as I could have done if I did a greater mileage! At the weekend I'm out with a friend so on Sunday should be able to refill very cheaply based on Agile Predict.

As for the cost of EVs, they've reached parity or cheaper: have you actually compared real prices currently? I was certainly surprised when I did as the number of models and market segments and competition have increased. No idea about depeciation; I haven't looked with my current 2022 model but the one I had for two years previously I made money on otherwise wouldn't have changed.

Thanks. I didn't reply, yesterday, because I don't take kindly to being lectured by people who know nothing about my circumstances.

For the record, I would never buy anew car, I leave that to leasing companies and fools. As far as any alleged carbon debt on an EV, mine had already paid that back when I bought it. Further to that, between my solar array and my share in a windfarm I produce more green electrcity then I consume.
