With all the changes and complications it would be interesting to know what net results Agile users have in fact achieved when averaged out over the past recent weeks and months. If the swings have been compensated for by the roundabouts.

Currently I'm still very much up - and that is with no solar or battery. If we had those we would be even better off!

SOA CALCULATOR (for DFW newbies): SOA Calculatorshe/her0 -
The usual caveat applies, if you used agile cheap slots for heating and haven't adjusted the calculation for it, that figure is not meaninful.

Surely this depends on an individuals own usage patterns which is the whole point of this tariff?

Agreed. But faced with the choice it would be interesting to get an idea of how users have been fare-ing. The alternative is literally a jump in the dark, which is what it might come to anyway.

My average unit rate has actually gone up in the last 5 days as I've turned off battery import and have mostly run from solar/battery. The 200 watts/day that I pull from the grid averages 33.244p/unit. Over the last 60 days I'm at 15.75p/kWh. Now I'm used to it, it works well for me.
I did think I might change when we get a heatpump, but @Netexporter's experience makes me think I might see whether I can make it work.

Heat pumps and Agile are similar in that you need to to look at the SCOP for the whole year and not fret about when 10 degrees below temperatures meet dunkelflaute Agile prices. Getting through 30+kWh per day at above SVT prices is painful, but doesn't last forever - it just seems like it at the time!
The opposite dilemma is when Agile prices are negative and your solar is producing loads of energy at the same time.
Overall, if you can run and heat your home and run your car for well under £500 a year, I call that a bargain, in return for a bit of diligence in monitoring prices.
Having said that, I'll probably move onto other tariffs when I add batteries to my system.

some very cheap rates late tonight and early tomorrow, but peak is a lot higher than today. I’m in South Scotland region.

Thanks for that. I really need to get on and make some decisions about heat pumps as I only have 300l of oil left and this week is looking chilly! I can add another 10kWh of battery storage to my existing 10kWh so will have to experiment once it's all in place (and keep a close eye on what you're up to, clearly!).

Well, it is to me, and a slight wetted finger in the wind for others during what was probably the worst month of the year. Should have mentioned too that I have an EV, but this house only runs as one cost centre.. I've got to the end of winter, more or less (!) £99 in credit and already reduced the DD Octopus suggested once, so I'm satisfied that Agile works for me, which is the problem with all such comparisons.
