Not really odd. Just a result of them not updating it the previous time the cap changed when most regions saw a big SC drop but as is usual in Merseyside, we got ripped off with another rise.0

Nice day of low rates tomorrow. Will be heating the house tomorrow using the electric heaters me thinks 🙂0

Yep - our underfloor and electric rads will be on overnight. Annoyingly we're out a lot of tomorrow, so can't benefit too much more, this keeps happening at the moment. Still, we can get the DW and WM through while it's super cheap/negative tonight at least.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I don't think I'm going to be putting on any heaters, much too warm for that but we'll make the most of it somehow. Very satisfying when even the peak 4-7pm rates are over 10p below the price cap.2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0

There will be some electric heating here, lots of laundry, some cooking, hot water and battery kept topped up too. Although the battery is currently at 80% after being filled up cheaply last night and just about kept topped up by a pathetic amount of solar during the day.0

Ah, negative electricity pricing, hello again my old friend.1

Home has been heated up to 22⁰ all day today and I suspect tomorrow as well.0

So far I've used just over 33kWh at a cost of -10p...
Of course, having almost completely discharged the battery just before midnight ready to charge at 1am, we had a power cut 12-1pm. Luckily at that time of night it wasn't an issue, but did make me wonder whether discharging to maximise ROI on the negative pricing is a wise idea in bad weather!0 -
We did just under 19kWh yesterday - looks like a cost of 6p to us but allowing that got the house toasty warm overnight and included 2 runs of the dishwasher and the same with the WM I’m well pleased with that. If we’re back early enough today then I’ll get the bedding through the wash - I suspect that will dry quickly enough in the line!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
