I saw the warning that smart meters don’t recognise summer time.  Is this also true of the predictions on the agile portal?

I think Agile does use BST.

What on earth does that mean? What difference would it make if a smart meter "recognised" summer time?

Instead of 00.30am-1am, it read as 00.30am-2am yesterday

What I want to know is whether I need to add an hour to the times on the agile portal.

Simply answer is no. Just use Agile as you always have, to BST now that's what we're in.

Both Octopus Compare for upcoming rates and Octopus' own app showed that timeslot.

I was thinking yesterday I'm glad I didn't have to work out the times for Cosy and could just let the timeslots do their thing on Agile - but it's just occurred to me I set our heat pump to be off during the peak.  So I'll have to check, I don't think it switches to BST by itself, I think there was a manual setting that needs changing.

So I'm very glad the timing was brought up in the thread, not sure I'd have realised otherwise!

My EPH programmable room stat auto-adjusted for BST but my heat pump controller had daylight saving turned off, so I adjusted the time manually as this would affect the DHW schedule. I stayed awake to 1am just to be sure!

Economy 7 and similar tariffs tend to use GMT all year around. So people have to adjust their schedules to account for that.

Most (perhaps all?) smart tariffs use GMT in the winter and BST in the summer. Much simpler.
