    dont forget the ironing  :/
It's Mother's day. Not sure how well it would go down if I ask the wife to do some ironing  :D

She’d probably suggest you learn to use the iron yourself…

Upto 50 kWh so far. Feels wrong having heating on and windows open but hey ho. Fabric of the building shoukd be nice and warm by the end of it and won't need the heating on tomorrow I expect so a couple of days of using next to no gas.

I’m all out of uses of electric!
I’ve charged the car, cut the grass, batch cooked using the oven, cooked roast dinner, load of washing on the long wash, oil filled radiator on to boost the temp in the living room so no fire or gas heating needed later.
24kwh which will pay for my standing charge and a little bit more 🥳

We used to go absolutely nuts as a household but ended up burning out an electric fan last year which cost £20 to replace so wiped out a load of savings.

Now we just do what we would normally with the following exceptions

Legionella cycle run on the heat pump with the tank heater only (4kwh)
Heat pump turned up to 45oC flow temp

My heating system is a thermal store, usually heated by the gas boiler but it has 2 3kW immersions. I've got home assistant on to automatically switch those on when the unit price is below a set variable, which yesterday I set to 0. In terms of effort,.it's not a lot. Granted it might burn out the immersions sooner, but without agile pricing I'd never use them anyway

We’ve done alright out of today
    - 4 loads of washing, including bedding and both our dressing gowns
    - house heated entirely using electric via oil filled rads and the underfloor heating in kitchen and bathroom
    - dishwasher run overnight on a clean
    - bread maker on overnight for a loaf ready first thing for breakfast
    - 3 double portions of cauli cheese pasta bake and 4 double portions of ragu made
    - dehumidifier run upstairs for a solid 12 hour stretch
    - underfloor heating run in the office to thoroughly warm the fabric of the building through - for various reasons it’s not used much at the moment so that will do it good.

Very pleased with that - we'll end the day still in a small positive in spite of having cooked this evening (airfryer) and the laundry basket is completely empty so no need to think about washing for the next few days. A few days of nice easy prep dinners in the freezer/fridge is a win too.

Edit - ended up on -13p for the day so free energy all day and a little bit chipped off the SC as well! Plus of course the saving on gas as well.
