Yes, I suppose that side of things is still about as good as it's ever been. On a pure supply basis, they are still competitive against the other big suppliers, but not dramatically undercutting them on typical usage patterns.

    Good news for the environment.

I doubt that designing, building, delivering and supporting evs is that easy?
That's not the point, point is that their main focus is to make money now.

If you want 100% green energy there's 100green company which does it best in UK and it's TOU tarrif Tide offers 3 periods per day with 0-7am at 9p/kWh.
Yes but do you know that the power arriving at your house is the stuff that they buy? Smoke and mirrors springs to mind, and do they buy from Drax ?

They give a lot of people a `cheap' route into tech that helps the environment and they back it up with tariffs to suit.

I think they should be applauded for that.

Yes, I only recently learnt that for the smaller suppliers there is a 250,000 cap in customers before the companies then have imposed upon them the various obligations to run various green schemes (e.g. Warmer Homes), FIT tariff administration etc. So smaller suppliers have some advantages although I'd be worried about their ordinary admin overheads, sourcing capital or getting their hedging appallingly wrong, as happened in the past.

There seem to have been some odd situations with Agile, but maybe there have been some odd situations in the way the markets work? I've heard of decent offers into the market from battery operators being ignored, possibly as a contingency for later, and then not being used (needed) at all. The reduction of the offer from NESO for saver sessions this year means that I'm not bothering, but one must assume that they are not really needed? It seems strange given the significant prices certain suppliers have been given for some recent incidents.

I'm giving Agile a little longer, this horrible January certainly, and then I'll review again on an annual basis against alternative tariffs.

They tell you where they buy from, and they get audited.
I'm glad that GEUK / 100Green Tide is back, I was thinking of switching to it a few years ago but ended up choosing Go instead. It's a useful option for some households.
Also GEUK have been around for ages and don't look like they're about to go under, unlike certain fruit-themed suppliers we could name!

If we had solar and batteries then a return to GEUK and the Tide Tariff would be a bit of a no-brainer for us I think. I liked them when we were with them a few years ago - excellent customer service and a nice ethos. That said I feel much the same about Octopus as well, so...!

    Well, not really.

They install heat pumps and ev chargers at a loss.

They supply me with all my electricity at 7p per kWh and buy it back at 15p per kWh.

I think they do a great job of giving their customers the opportunity to help the environment without crippling them with huge electricity bills.

Octopus are targeting a certain demographic now which you fit into.  The tariff e.g. you have is not open for everyone.

We know, somebody asked why, and that has been explained.

Thanks for pointing it out though.

Just had a look at the BBC pressure map for the next few days, looking like little wind , i fear you may be in for some high prices on agile.
