The bathroom in our case is a downstairs shower room. OH sleeps in the spare room when he has to get up early. Thinking about it I should have put the towel rail on in the ensuite but the lights on the timer disturb my sleep. Should have sorted it and closed the door. Will remember for next time.

Keeping my eye out for an oil filled radiator bargain, one with an integral timer ideal I think, will try to get some survey points accumulating to pay for it. I've not got the figures from yesterday yet because I got rid of our inhome display not long after having the smart meters installed - it was making me not want to use the oven or kettle when on Eon's fix! Only gas used was for hot water and electricity will be interesting, definitely warmed the walls up with the overnight heating which has been good.0

I recommend a Tapo smart plug. Easy to schedule on their app. Usually on offer on Amazon2

I've got heatmiser smart plugs but only because they help with the mesh network that my thermostats need. It does mean they are all in one app and I can create a single profile for Agile which I can then apply to the towel rails, portable rads and immersion. I've had others in the past (Eufy and Meross according to my phone) but they've been unreliable in terms of connecting to wifi as they both appear to need a dedicated 2.5ghz connection. In fact, I should probably check them all and get rid of any that are unreliable. It's complicated having to go into 3 different apps.0

If buying, there are two different sort - I think it's the Tapo P110 which also has energy monitoring built in which is useful.

The reason I would prefer an inbuilt timer was because it'd be a relatively high current draw, which I'd not have trusted with previous timer plugs I've had, but looking at Tapo they do go up to a high enough current. When we move I'm planning to have a lot more automation going on (currently have a 20 year old boiler in a rented house) and so they're worth investing in when i can.
Electricity use yesterday 39 kilowatts, that's more than 10 days of my normal use! cost me 36p including the 60 pence standing charge.

Oh that's cracking tM - my 36p was sadly excluding the SC.
