  • I'm hopeful that tomorrow's "greener day" might give me a slot suitable for getting a load of washing through - the laundry basket is beginning to look a bit full!

We did end up using the camping stove for cooking last night - worked fine. Undecided whether I'll do the same thing again tonight, but it is a possibility.
hope you have a CO monitor

Worth checking that's not false economy, depends on the stove but I'm pretty sure my camping gaz would be more expensive than electricity even though I bought when it was on offer
Haha - very true, but we have quite a lot of it and don't make use of it often, so we'd rather use it than store it!

With both an open fire and a gas boiler in the house, we have several of them!

Did a ten mile walk to the supermarket and back during part of the peak to pick up some Bailey's at a tenner a litre, oddly warm weather and I had to take off a layer of clothes to survive, electric use has dropped to sub 1kw a day for the past few days, mitigating the extended peak hours. Gas yet to be turned on, too.

Gosh, we are 15-20kW per day at this time of year. Even my base load is ~5kW per day so I have no clue how you can run a property on 1kW per day. My fridge probably draws that alone.

  • We are averaging around 16 kw per day. And I am pleased with that.
With regards to costs, I have managed to load shift as well. My Hybrid car charges on a 3 pin plug overnight whereas before being on Agile I just used to plug it in when I got home around 4pm. I am also using the delay function on washer and dw.

That 10 mile walk could have taken a week :)

Yesterday for me was 5p cheaper than flexible or any of the fixes and 20p cheaper than tracker, day before 4p more than fix, 4p less than tracker. I am a relatively light user by looks of it (3.3 KWh/day average) but I didn't alter what I'd normally do because of the prices yesterday. I'm pretty reassured as this is my first experience of high prices on Agile and we're in what looks the most expensive area

Average use is around 15kW/day, and I've been 40p and 33p more expensive than the SVR for the last two days, but I'm still 46p up on the month, so can't complain. Given how little wind/solar we've had and how ridiculously high the prices have been, I am amazed I'm still up on the week/month which gives me great confidence to stick with Agile until the more unsettled winter weather arrives.
The bonus is that the weather has been very mild, so the ASHP heating has been extremely efficient. With COPs of 5-6, I'm effectively paying around 4-5p per kWh for heating, even at these elevated electricity prices - significantly below the current price of gas.

  • Whilst the weather has been mild the downside is that I have only generated 13kWh in the last 6 days, still making my mind up to go agile, fortunately I have “only” paid 15.13p / kWh to fill my batts.🤔
