Tomato Energy has an Agile tarriff now (sounds like a copy of Octopus):
Tomato Agile
Tomato Agile, our smart tariff directly tied to wholesale prices, offers access to half-hourly energy rates. When wholesale prices decrease, so do your bills. Perfect for those who can adjust their energy usage to off-peak times such as EV drivers.Key Benefits
- Cheaper rates when wholesale prices fall
- You can get paid to use electricity
- Cheaper wholesale prices often mean the greenest energy.

Saw someone mention this in another thread not too long ago - I can’t seem to find any current easily accessible published tomato prices (already enough to put me off), but based on the one screenshot shared in that thread for that particular day it seemed to be very poor value compared to Octopus.Newbie_John said:Tomato Energy has an Agile tarriff now (sounds like a copy of Octopus):Tomato Agile

Over 30p/kWh most of the day with a low of around 23p, compared to Octopus where it was a mostly sub 15p day with a low of under 2p/kWh.Of course you can’t judge the entire tariff on that one day, but it certainly doesn’t paint a good picture for them when the average price over the day was around the same level as the Octo-Agile peak rates.
That said, it is always good to see more suppliers getting on board with the more innovative tariffs, and the possibility of some healthy competition against the Octo-tariffs in future is always welcome.Moo…3 -
