I called Halifax today and the  first 2 people told me wait 5 days and I called  again and the 3rd person gave me the money straight away at 4 pm today

Great .Have u applied switching to Ulster?I applied on 4 April and sent documents back to them on 9 April but they not sent email accept or reject.

There is another recent post on ulster on the forums, in respect to their times, and  slow ref the account opening/switch process by the looks of it, I will try and find the thread and come back and add a link to it it if possible 

however given that 4 april was just 3 days before the bank holiday and the 9 april was also on a bank holiday weekend in all it has only been 5 working days so far so wouldn't worry too much yet
