crikey Thursday already and boy its chilly. I have to wait in the car for my daughter while she has her lesson on the Thursday and I was very tempting to leaving the engine running, but I didnt, I wrapped up and put the heat on full bast on the way home to warm up my feet!!
Not acheived much outside of work this week, been feeling very low in energy, but have been looking at the money pots and shuffling bits and pieces around. I think I need to re look at my overall budget again and also get DH to look at his bit too. But for now I need to cook tea gnoocki and mozeralla sauce and fried mushrooms (with GF pasta for the boy!) We need to find a good garlic bread subsitute for the boy as he misses it, so mostly we have stoped having it as it seems unfair!

  • Could you just put garlic butter stuff on gluten free bread and stick under the grill? It must be so tough having your meals limited.

Where you have to wait for daughter is there anywhere/ anything nearby - shops to browse in? Somewhere safe to walk for a while? Could you take your dog with you and walk while you're waiting for her? I don't drive (or have a dog) but have done my share of waiting for son during various clubs when he was younger, and the distance meant no point going home. I have done it all, from libraries, sitting in wetherspoons nursing a pepsi, real shopping, window shopping, walking around, sitting on benches reading, I've even got random buses 30 mins in 1 direction, just to get off and get another bus back again!

    Nearly Friday round up day!!

hi Time to count, thank you so much for your comment, its lovely to know someone is reading!
The garlic bread, I mostly me being lazy I guess, Plus GF bread costs so much more. What Ineed to do is start making GF bread and thenbatch make GFgarlic bread and freeze it ~ actually What I need to do is get DS1 to do it (he is 19 and more than capable!!) But You have made me think I could buy the ready squeezed garlic that comes in a tube like tomoato puree and then it would be easy to add a little butter and whack it on some bread. Thanks for that, I need easy or it wont happen!

The waiting is ok im happy on the whole to wait, I am just so pleased that she is finally engaged in learning!! My phone is far to good a distraction. Plus I have my healing work which I can do in the car as its lovely and quiet and I can take all my book with me. Its just cold this time of year!

  • I too have a lot of waiting in the car while mine are at various groups, my tips are to wear thermals, take a hot drink in an insulated mug, take a hot water bottle, plenty of blankets and sometimes I take my boots off and wear replace with thick socks.

My eldest is also GF and so they don't feel they are missing out we have cut out a lot of things including garlic bread. We have been making GF naan bread for a while and it is delicious. Lots of bought GF bread has been tried, the best has been M&S GF sourdough, expensive but tastes good. More recently we have been having a go at making our own GF bread using Freee bread flour, sometimes with more success than others.

Hi arrietty, thank you for dropping by and reading my diary, i dont feel like it's very cheery! Unfortunately i was in huge amounts of pain for a few months at the end of lady year, but thank God that's all gone along with the culprit, s wisdom tooth! But I still feel I need to get my joy back! Infact i started meditating again today, first time this year and a good 45 minutes. I am going to try and get back to doing it daily as it is really helpful at giving me a reset!

I'm also going to try and rememder to add in my gratefuls. It's always good to think of what we can appreciate having or seeing or using.
Today I am grateful to DS2 who cooked a lovely dinner this evening.
Also for the bright cold but sunny day and for my cosy warm house. It's good to be tucked up in bed x

thank you Doris, they are coming along x

This morning DH and I taught DS2 how to safely use my chainsaw. He was kitted out in my gear and was very happy (at 19) to be using a chain saw. He has spent hours chopping up the wood with an axe, now its all the bigger bits left and a chain saw is needed. So, he got through a fair pile. I need to desperatly find a new wood store place, I thought I had a plan but it wont work, so Now I need to move the seasoned wood pile somewhere and place this fresh wood there. But I need a good energy day for that, or some help. Might have to ask DS1 if he will help me.
Other than that we have been to the R_ange and DH bought a few things including a couple of new oven trays, Ive chosen some diddy ones as GF boy needs seprate tray and if they are small they can go on the same same shelf as another tray. So pleased with those. DS2 was very happy to find the cadburys mini eggs are GF, so a pack of those was added to the basket and some sticky back plastic (the reason we went) we are going to cover the bare wood shelves in the second hall so they are easier to keep clean.
