Shineyhappy said:Sorry I have been awol for so long but apart from the toothache I’m glad to see things are going so well.
Getting shot of the mortgage has made such a difference to us. For me it was a millstone around my neck and I would never have one again. We could pay any OP on ours of any amount without an issue (as long as it wasn’t over 10% a year) so if I found 50p I would transfer 50p, our mortgage statement was huge. Every saving was paid straight away and it felt good and motivated me, but we are all different.
I use PA for pension OPs and it makes a difference having a reason to do them as some are so dull and repetitive. I hope you enjoy your holiday, are you going away?Hi @Shineyhappy ~ thanks for popping by. Yes apart fro the blasted toothache all is well!!! ALhtough I'm temped to add in everysapre 50p I also have lots of other pots that needs my attention. I am however wanting to increase the O/P so will keep thinking of other ways and means!! Like you I am using PA for the OP for the mortage and it really helps to motivate me to continue with them.Holibobs are in Portugal, first holiday abroad for 4 years whoop de whoop!! Getting exicted now, all my clothes are on the bed and just about ready to be packed. I am expecting all DC to be able to pack their own clothes. We shall see what they forget. DH and I keep telling them to start getting their stuff ready but only DD has started, but she is little miss organised!!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Sunday ~ shmunday! we very oftern get ShMunday on a Sunday afternoon / evening as the new week looms ahead!!!! but not so much today as we are off in a few days!!PA had been very quiet, but I managed 6 studies today, 4 were while the football was on, so I guess everyone else was watching the footie (it was also on in the background) However the values were mostly below a £1. Hopefullt will get a few more before we go away.Picked a nice bowl of raspberries to go in the freezer ~ this is the first lot we've frozen this year. Normally we have picked bowls and bowls full, but the birds deveavored them when they first fruited this year and they are only just recovering and now the birds dont seem interested.? wierd? I think next year we will have to net them! Also had a think and Im going to shuffle my pots around the car money pot is in starling and not earning any interest, but sits there building slowly over time. The OP payment are in a saving account with 4% but will not be in there any length of time so Im going to swappsie them around or actully might just keep the PA money in paypal and pay it across in smaller chunks straight to the mortgage.Grateful today for goregous fresh raspberries. For a lovely hot sunny day and 4 lots of washing line dried. xx♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Shmunday is a very accurate description!
Great idea changing the pots around as interest or higher interest is needed when it's annual outgoings, all helps to boost them.
Not long until you're away now ☺️Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
well its monday, not sure im awake yet, but im up!!!I have edited the OP pot so its now named Lizzie (yes my car is called Lizzie!
) and moved the funds across. Its only £80 at the moment as I raided it for the insurance. But at least now (well after the MOT and service due in September I will save for the nexts years car bits and it will get some interest.
Had another shock ;ast night I asked DH if he had the house ins renewal email, as its up in Sept. After a search he found it and opened it its doubled to £800 odd.We currenlty have a claim going through for subsidance, which has meant several reports done and is going to involve 3 tree being taken down and repairs to the brick work (fairly minor apparently!) But with this still in process I feel it would be best to stick with current provider and then have a proper look around next August for a cheaper house ins. Cant beleive he didnt open the email up grrrrr!! I have set a reminder in the daiary to alert us for next year!!

worked out my Mortgage OP of £60 will reduce the daily interest by 1/2p
however little that sounds it is still less and more encoruaging is that as long as I carry it one it will reduce the term by 6 months, so well well worth it and Im hoping to find a way to make it more than 60

It is best to stick with the same insurer until resolved, even though that price hurts.
While ¹/2p doesn't sound much, it's £182.50py, but alters due to the outstanding amount reducing.
Hope you're all packed and ready to go!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
@MovingForwards yes we're going to stay with current insurers for this year. seems sensible and the cost of the claims will be at least a couple of grand
So we will benefit. and ive put it in the calender to check for new insurance next year.
Not packed yet, but a have a list !!!in fact i have 2 lol. a very big list of things to do today.
Grateful this morning for my cup of coffee!!! been awake since 5.30 and brain decided to kick in with all the things i need to do. So i got up and made my lists!!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Morning 8.30 saw me queuing up outside the dentist to request an emergency app for today. And Ill be back at 1.10.
fingers crossed they can help me this time. I do least know now, which tooth is causing the problem (and it isnt the one I thought.) It feel like the nerve is exposed, yesterday I found the exact spot with my tongue and it send a electric like shock into my head and this is what has been happening when I eat. Really unpleaseant and I really really hope they can do something or even just take it out before we go away tomorrow!!
Otherwise today is going to be a little crazy packing my stuff up and organising everyone else and taking the dog to my mums, which will take a few hours after the dentist, so I need to capitalise on the time I have right now and get moving!! lol♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

I am so glad you got an appointment, dental pain is awful and hopefully they fixed it before you go away.
I hope you have a wonderful time in Portugal with lots of rest and sun.
Sorry to hear about bout the huge rise in insurance but I think it’s the right thing to stay with them if there are subsistence issues.
I used to love to work out how much I was saving with various mortgage OPs over various time frames and the combinations were endless.
Now it’s how much extra do I have to it into my pension to get another 1p per month at various retirement agesDebt Free - done

Hope the dentist figured out what was wrong and fixed it.
Tell us all about your trip when back 😄Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0
