What a great holiday and so much covered, loads of catch ups.

    How's PD and lady D?

    Enjoy the much needed rest.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • Puppy dog and golden child were a delight MF 😁 PD nearly knocked me off my feet she was so excited to see me and they have both wanted cuddles all week. Was sad to leave them.

I need to get back to healthy eating now SQS. I think I have put on about a stone 🫣🤭

  • Very busy day yesterday (wednesday)
Sunshine and showers. Managed to get towels, pj’s and dressing gown washed at DF’s and hung out in the afternoon & dried out on my washing line.

DF drove us to b& q as my ankles and feet were sore after the long drive home on tue. Bought a chrome and black edging strip £20 for where the lino (kitchen) will meet the laminate floor (diner) and a big tin of paint for the kitchen walls £22.(2.5L). Paid from 1 year bond interest pot. Will order the lino after the bank holiday and will be glad to get my washing machine back in place when the lino has been fitted.

We called off at aldee on the way home & I got enough food to last the rest of this week and over bank holiday weekend including 15p carrots & onions. Spent £24.63. Popped into tesco and got half price lamb £13.20. I am going to cook a roast dinner for me & DF on Sunday. Leftovers will be frozen. May be enough lamb to make a curry.

DF is coming round later today to prepare the kitchen walls for painting. He’s hoping the weather is nice enough Friday/ Saturday to get working on his allotment. Painting will be next week.

I’m going to walk down the village to see my friend for a cuppa and chat this afternoon. Aquafit booked for next Friday. Will be glad to get back to exercising. Feeling very bloated and sluggish.

You are busy!! Kitchen is coming on lovely now.  Roast lamb has my tummy rumbling.

Hope the weather cooperates for DF - they keep changing the forecast here and not for the better sadly.

    Happy Easter SYA - 🥰👍🏻

  • So pleased you had a lovely break with everyone pleased to see you ! Doesn't take long to get back into routine does it but sounds like house & garden coming along a treat x ooh roast lamb dinner !
  • Wonderful to hear from you again. Holiday to the south was obviously happy and full.
  • Thanks SQS, thriftylynny and Baron_Dale.

It was a lovely holiday. I booked up my days with friends before I left home so I knew I could fit everyone in. I was also invited in for a cuppa & chat by my old next door neighbours 😁

Today (thursday) I washed my new bedding, bought before I went away, at DF’s and carried home & dried outside. Will be nice to have new clean sheets tonight. DF washed down my kitchen walls ready for painting. He’s coming tomorrow to do the first coat as he says it’s too cold to do anything at the allotment. Cold wind 🥶 but mostly dry until about 5pm.

Took Easter gifts to my friend for her & her DH. Just a small token. Received gifts from them including a choc bunny, bunch of daffys and mini bottle of wine 😊

Have been sat with my feet up for the rest of the day ☺️

Hope the rest is helping get you back on your feet.

Have a look at your lino co in case they put a cheeky bank hol offer on.

What colour is planned for the walls?

  • Thanks MF. The kitchen paint is Ottawa colour 😆 Basically cream. Wall tiles are cream with black edging strips & worktops are black. Cupboards are cream. Lino will be black.

Hey SYA - your kitchen colours sound really nice - cream and black - it will never go out of fashion x

waiting on the hordes to descend any moment now so enjoying a moment of peace before the kettle is non stop. So far the weather is better than predicted hope it stays that way as it’s been really miserable last couple days here.

Have a lovely weekend xx 🐣🐣🐣
