  • Saturday morning was so cold 🥶 but it turned into a warm pleasant day. The shed came down fairly easily and DF chopped it up with his chainsaw 😆 I was removing screws & nails. Then we did 2 trips to the tip in the afternoon & got rid of it all.

Made a chicken, red pepper and chickpea curry with a Balti sauce from aldee. 2 portions in the freezer.

Received a card from DS & gf for today. Am looking forward to visiting them the week after next. Took flowers to garden of remembrance for DM 😔 💐

Went to dinner at a friends & was nice not to have to cook.

Tomorrow I have to wait in for a parcel, my new duvet cover arriving. I have a gammon joint from aldee going in the slow cooker & will have some for dinner with cauli & broccoli cheese. If the parcel arrives early enough I will go get my sis a birthday card & bottle of asti to go with the book I have bought for her birthday.

  • Another dark, grey, damp day.

Parcel arrived early so I went out. Put £10 petrol in the car. Will fill up next week at a cheaper garage for trip down south. Bottle of asti & 2 birthday cards from aldee £6.47. A couple of cans of spirits with mixers, mini eggs & bottle of cider for my friend and her husband for Easter £10.47. All from birthday/ Xmas pot. Returned white Tshirt to mat Alan for £5 refund to my credit card.

Have just been for a walk to post ex-fil a birthday card & carried on for a walk round the village.

Gammon is in the slow cooker for tea and I am going to cook a whole cauli & broccoli in my steamer and any leftovers will be frozen.

Thank goodness the pool is getting warmer.
Does tend to be the roof holding sheds together. Hope your friend realises it's now urgent the summer house is taken.
    Enjoy your holiday ☺️
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • Grey day & raining again here.

Aquafit this morning, I don’t think it will be as hot this week, it was like getting in a hot bath last time. I will update you later 😆

Council tax bill gone up from £972 to £1018.70. Have updated my budget for 1 x £100.70 then 9 x £102.

LOL to the Aquafit bath 😂

dreading arrival of CT bill here - have spread them out over 12 months as money just goes to my head during feb/march if on the 10 month schedule.

Heard from your friend yet about the summer house SYA? If they aren’t bothered could you list it on Ol!o, fr@@cycle or FB m@rketplace? Maybe your friend is concerned about how they are going to be able to move it?

I don't think the CT bill is something to be dreaded! I have received mine which as gone up about £18 a month, Not too bad. With reduced government funding the money to maintain services or try to maintain them has to come from somewhere.
I find paying over 10 months very useful. The 'free' two months enable the bills account to build up a cushion that lasts throughout the financial year.

  • Aquafit was cooler today but not cold. After lunch I took a load of washing to DF’s and have hung it out as we have a bit of sun and a breeze. That should be the last wash I need to do before I go away on Friday.

Tomorrow DF is helping me take the final bits of wood to the tip. I will fill the car up with petrol while we are there. I am leaving a garden gate key with my friend so her partner can come with his son & take the summer house. He is a joiner so I don’t think he has any problem taking it apart. He has already built a concrete base in their garden so I don’t think they have changed their minds.

I am in the process of arranging to meet up with friends down south and I am looking forward to seeing them all
