  • Aqua fit was hard work today, feel tired. Popped into asd@ on the way home and was disappointed there was no liver as I was planning on making liver & onions next week. Bought a whole chicken to cook on Sunday. I have invited DF for Sunday lunch. Also bought milk, ham, broccoli, parsnips & pork scratchings for snacking (low carb) total £12.53. Also completed the app for another £5 off and won 50p on spin the wheel. So I will hopefully get a hot roast chicken on Tuesday after aquafit for £1. 😁

Had some butternut squash soup for lunch with a ham & salad wrap. (Low carb wraps).

I have changed my leisure centre direct debit from 15 October to 1 October so in future all bills are paid at the beginning of the month & then what is left in my current account is mine to spend.

Received an email from my gas & electric supplier and my tariff is going down again 🤗

Friend came round for a cuppa and a chat. She brought us both a cake and I couldn’t say no! She is going on holiday next week so I will catch up with her again when she gets back.

  • W was work. Finding your recipe shows why I didn't want you thinking back about pre-retirement days!

We tend to switch the de-humid on in the morning and forget about it. Couldn't have it running 24/7 as we'd hear it at night, or I would.

Sounds like you've a good dentist giving a s&p during the check up.

Are there any other water based classes you can attend?

    Thanks MF and SQS

The only other pool activities are swimming. Aquafit twice a week plus walking a couple of times a week are enough for me at the moment.

Had a lovely day of resting yesterday while reading my book & listening to music. Went for a walk mid afternoon

Today I cooked a roast dinner including potatoes and carrots from DF’s allotment. We had a couple of the roast potatoes and I sent DF home with the leftovers so I wasn’t tempted. I do love cold roast potatoes 😆

I have some carrots and parsnips left so I will make curried parsnip soup in the slow cooker tomorrow.

Pension paperwork arrived on Saturday but I cannot get the calculator on the pension company website to work on my phone so I will have to use my laptop on DF’s broadband later this week

  • Lovely sunny morning on Monday so I walked up the hill to the chemist to collect my meds. Picked up 2 books in the phone box book exchange. Then called in to see my friends mum and check she was ok. It started to pour with rain shortly after, but I had my umbrella in my bag. ☔️

Home and curried parsnip soup was not ready in slow cooker so I had my dinner for lunch. Leftover roast from Sunday with swede & carrot mash from the freezer instead of potatoes. It stopped raining and brightened up in the afternoon so I went to get petrol £15.01. I always seem to go a penny over! 😆 Needed a stamp but they didn’t sell them.

Called at the post office to send a friend down south a birthday card. £1.10 for a first class stamp 😳. Card was from my stash bought earlier in the year.

Popped to DF’s for a cuppa. Then home and read my book for a while. Had some soup and a ham and watercress sandwich (low carb bread). 3 portions of soup now in the freezer.

  • Enjoyed aquafit this morning 😊

Called at asd@ on the way home and got a cooked chicken, mince beef, block of mature cheddar, apples and strawberries, 6 eggs, tin tomatoes and tin kidney beans, 8 cans cola max. Used my £5 off from the app, total cost reduced to £16.53. I also won £1 on spin the wheel and got 75p cash back from buying the cans of diet cola. I had 50p from my last spin so I have £2.25 towards my next shop.

I had some of the hot cooked chicken for lunch with salad and the rest will make sandwiches/wraps for lunches. I also have soup in the freezer or eggs / omelette, tins of tuna & cheese.

Tomorrow I plan to make a chilli in my slow cooker with the beef mince. I already have butternut squash, courgettes, onions and peppers.

Left in my current account £6.71. Should be enough food with the chilli and other meals in the freezer plus food in my fridge and store cupboard to last until I “pay” myself at the end of next week. May just need more milk and fruit.

  • Very wet and windy today. Walked to hairdresser in between downpours and booked in for cut and blow dry tomorrow £25 from annual bills pot.

Popped in to see DF for a cuppa and to use his laptop on his broadband to see if the pension calculator would work on pension company website. Managed to download the calculator but it still doesn’t work. Possibly because he doesn’t have M soft.

Home again between downpours & had soup & low carb sandwich for lunch. I put chilli in the slow cooker earlier this morning and will have some tonight.

Phoned my pension provider and they didn’t seem interested that the calculator doesn’t work. She said the pension goes down by about 5% for each year it is taken early. So I would lose 10% if I took it 2 years early. I will leave it for now. Still waiting to hear about how the M Cloud judgement will affect me.

Had a text from my GP to have a covid jab so I have booked that.
