Very hot today. Plans all changed. Went to look at garden stuff then a bit of lunch with DF. Soup & roll & cold drink for DF and jacket potato with tuna salad & cold drink for me total £12.65 from my entertainment fund. Then dropped DF home & I went to aldee £32.28 including fruit, wheat bics, smoked mackerel, salad, tin tuna, eggs, joint of gammon, 70% choc, chicken fillets 400g, plus box tissues, shampoo & bleach.

I will put the gammon in the slow cooker and that will do several meals with salad or broccoli/ cauli cheese. Also sliced for breakfast with eggs. Chicken will do a few meals with roasted med veg or salad or swede/ carrot mash & cauli/ broccoli (in freezer) with gravy or with stir fry veg, ginger & soy. May just need more lettuce/ watercress and milk before the weekend. I am also going to make a goose mince / courgette lasagne.

    Current account remaining £68.88
    Groceries £40
    Petrol £10
    Entertainment £18.88

Hey lovely SYA - the heat is punishing! If you have one or two cooler packs from the freezer they work a treat wrapped in a tea towel and placed at the back of your neck or underarm/leg etc.  a shower before bed can also cool and allow for an easier sleep at night.

sorry to hear about your friends mom xx

  • It does seem that for once the North and East of England are getting the better of the weather. We have had a couple of fairly hot days but in general nothing special lol!

Too hot 🥵 can’t sleep despite having a quick cool shower and having the fan on.

Was too hot to cook today so I had cold roast chicken with salad for lunch and cold smoked peppered mackerel with crackers & cheese for dinner. It’s supposed to be cooler tomorrow so I have taken some goose mince from the freezer to make a courgette lasagne and mince & onions in gravy with mashed swede & carrot topping.
