Excellent price on the fences SYA - bargain - and very smart the way you vetted the phone call too.

looks like the north west is largely going to miss out on any heatwaves so far - hope it’s not too bad for you xx

Thanks Suze. Fingers crossed they don’t ring me back and up the price 🤞 I was so careful not to say “are you sure that’s the right price?” 😂

If that is correct I may have enough leftover to pay for a patio and garden furniture 😁

I have treated myself to a kebab & chips delivered tonight paid out of the diy pot! (Chicken breast & salad). I offered to treat DF to a Chinese but he said it was too hot 🥵 I will wait for the fence to be delivered and paid for before any further spending from that pot!

Kebab and chips sounds very naughty until I read on and discover it was made up of chicken breast and salad  :)
I hope the fencing quote is correct and you can buy garden furniture too

Thanks Tresinia and dia ☺️ It was a chicken shish kebab (cubed chicken breast, peppers, onions on a skewer with fresh salad from a local place which has a 5 star hygiene rating on the Food standards agency website. 😋 I don’t eat the pitta that comes with it but only because I am still carb counting. (I had naughty chips instead 😈 ). Whenever I order food online from anywhere I check the place’s hygiene rating. Some only have a 1 star 😵🤢 edit to add that I obviously don’t order from them!

It was cool yesterday morning with a strong breeze. Washing hung out and then read a book while I waited for a parcel. My new light arrived for the top of the stairs (£42.80 with free delivery) & DF came round to fit them for me. Then we went to tool station for light bulbs and I got a box of 5 for £5 which I thought was a good price. Used funds from my diy pot.

Today it started cooler and I sat in the garden with a cuppa and then did some weeding. More washing hung out. Full sun now out there and it is boiling 🥵 so I’m back inside with all the windows open but there’s not as much breeze today so the fan is on too! I will use up salad bits & coleslaw with tuna for lunch and I have a final portion of slow cooked gammon from the freezer for tea either with more salad or broccoli/ cauliflower (microwave from freezer) and cheese sauce. Too hot for cooking!

I’m out of laundry liquid now but it’s “payday” tomorrow so I will be going shopping. Then I’m going to wash bedding. Tuesday is lunch/ shopping with my friend. Might see if DF fancies a trip to the garden centre on Wednesday. Thursday is country park / lunch with DF & niece & little lad 🥰  Off to my sisters on Friday.

Thanks jwil and Tresinia 😊 Hope everyone is coping with this heat 🥵 I managed to sleep until 4am with the fan on. Eventually I managed to doze back off until 7am.

I have transferred funds into my current account for July. Hopefully this month should see my new fence delivered, paid from diy pot.

My boiler man agreed to putting another radiator in my kitchen/ diner and I will need to ring him in August to arrange for that to be done before winter. Hopefully that shouldn’t be too much work / too expensive as the pipes are still inside the chimney from the old back boiler. Will be paid from diy pot.

    July budget below

    Phone (sim-only) £10

    Tv licence 14.95

    Water 21

    Council tax £106

    Union £2.35.

    Gas & Electric £63.63

    Annual bills £120

    Birthdays / Xmas £55

    Car pot £50

    Petrol £40

    Entertainment £100

    Food £200.  (£40 x 5 weeks)

    Aquafit £32.50

    Income £833

    Outgoing £815.43

    Remaining £17.57

Morning SYA - sorry the heat has been unbearable 😔 if your home is on 2 floors could you sleep downstairs if it’s bad again tonight? Probably cooler down therre.

Something has gone up on your budget because you normally have more left over end of month but for life of me I cannot figure out what it is! 😝

Everything crossed your boiler man quote is reasonable - looking forward to you having a cosier kitchen 🥰
