I will probably go with the company DF uses.

I’ve been out with some soapy water, a cloth & old toothbrush and cleaned my rear windscreen wiper. I couldn’t get a replacement one in Hfords. That’s the only problem with having an older car, getting spare parts.

There’s some companies online who supply the rubber bits on their own if that’s what’s gone on yours - I can find out who OH used last time if you like? I remember we were worried as it was coming from Spain and the reviews were terrible (we made the mistake of reading them after the fact lol) but in fact they delivered well and on time and was quality

Sya, £7 is indeed a complete steal imo for changing wipers.  They do bulbs too, worth every penny. Bargain too, sandwich and tea for under a tenner in marks

    Thanks Suze & Tresinia 😊

Man at Hfords told me to try € car. So I’ve looked online and they suggest one for my car is £8.99 and there is a store about 15 mins away. That’s for the blade not just the rubber strip.

That was for 2 sandwiches and 2 pots tea Tresinia ☺️ Sandwiches were yellow stickered rtc.

Nice sunny day not too hot. I am not looking forward to the heatwave on its way. We have a heat warning in Yorkshire 🥵

Visit to the dentist all ok. Check up plus scale and polish £27.40 from household bills pot. I have also ordered a new light fitting to replace the broken one at the top of the stairs. Paid from DIY pot.

Aquafit in the morning then down to see my friend for a cuppa in the afternoon.

Sya. Not looking forward to the heat either.  There is such a simple  elegance in how you manage your fixed income,  it is so fascinating for some reason 😁
  • The British always moan about the weather. It never seems to be right for most people, I say that as a British person. I just enjoy whatever comes  along and make the most of it lol.

Try your boiler man again. I get the same with my plumber...his communication is dreadful, but he is good at his job so in constant demand.
I found a back-up for him but for big jobs I will persevere with him

I hope you get a decent price for your fence.

I agree. Where are all your pots kept? Is it an account that allows pots or are you allocating the funds via a spreadsheet?
If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks Tresinia and dia 😊 You are both so kind.

It’s only the high temperature that I complain about. 30 degrees was pretty much unknown for Yorkshire when I was here before. Definitely global warming 🥵

I took your advice dia and phoned the boiler man again. He had forgotten but apologised and came to service the boiler this afternoon. £60 from annual bills pot. Cheaper than expected 😁 My pots are virtual in one account and I keep a record of the breakdown on my phone.

I also had a call from a withheld number so I rang the fence company to see if it was them. It wasn’t but they gave me a price which doesn’t seem right but I confirmed it with them and what it included. I told them to go ahead and then after thinking about it I rang them back and confirmed the amount again pretending I was ringing to check if they wanted cash or bank transfer on delivery. They said bank transfer will be fine. Pay on delivery. Wood is treated and colour dipped brown. Same as my front fence I bought last year & will match what my other side neighbours bought for their side at the back. Quote for 12 concrete gravel boards, 12 concrete posts & 12 fence panels delivered £750. I spoke to DF and he was also surprised how cheap they are. We are both expecting them to call me with a different price at some point. 🤣 My neighbours have offered to fit it for me. ❤️

I have been to see my friend for a cuppa and chat. We are going into town on the bus for retail therapy and lunch / drink next week. At least on the bus we don’t have to worry about getting back to the car.
