Emergency fund growing lovely SYA - & very interesting reading about what different foods do to your levels! Is ice cream the food that spikes it the most?Lancashire

Finances excellent as usual.
I would expect ice cream to spike as it goes straight into the bloodstream. You don't even have to chew it to break it down. Great that you walked after, that would have helped. I sort of forgot that a 10 minute walk after eating helps. I might tie my evening meal into a short stroll to the beach of an evening.

Sya, interesting the cake spiked less than the ice cream, I'm gong to get one of these and do a bit of monitoring, I think it will make me more mindful about what i eat. Also be interesting to know if another reading after the walk might show a drop after the spike? Walking within 2 hours of eating is supposed to be beneficial for bloods. Although I was brought up to "sit and digest" immediately after a meal😄3

Thanks Suze, Tresinia and dia.Hope mse doesn’t think this is turning medical. Would just say it has been worth trying for me. Just going to try to stick to low carb low sugar as that seems to suit me personally and increase the walking. I can eat k fc 😋 and maybe just the occasional cake 😉
It was sunny but cool here this morning. I spent the morning reading a book. Once it warmed up I did some gardening and managed to weed a quarter of my rockery. Went for a stroll after lunch and dropped off 3 books at the community phone box. Picked up 3 more. Bumped into my friends mum on the way back so walked and chatted back down the hill.Have been reading since I got back. Batch cooked chilli (mince, butternut squash, veg & bean) from the freezer for dinner with grated cheese. Will have a 10 minute walk this evening.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Sunny morning here ☀️ Heating was on for a quick blast last night as it got quite chilly but has been off most days.I am very sore this morning. Must be from gardening even though I only did 10-15 mins. Will probably just rest today and read. Food will be from stores. Breakfast sausage sandwich, lunch tuna & boiled egg salad, dinner gammon and cauliflower / broccoli cheese
I am waiting on the bank to produce the end of tax year annual interest statements so I can do a round up for the year.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Sounds like an idyllic Sunday to me sya, don't forget some of those muscles have been in " rest" mode while you weren't well. As with all things in nature, take it slow and easy is the order of the day. Oh, and a bit of stretching maybe, always helps me. But oh, a sausage sandwich is to die for. My favourite! In fact I'm going to have one for my breakfast tomorrow, I'm off to the local shop to get some now you've said that5

I agree with @Tresinia511 keep taking it easy as you've been poorly
I often forget about cauliflower cheese but it is good for a low carb diet. I might make some this week. I've done a meal plan already but that is so I know I have enough food for the week without any additional spending. How do you do your cauliflower cheese? A white roux and everything? If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
