Just a reminder that this is sum total of the OPs defence:
I have bought the ticket on the day in question so the company have no rightful claim against me. The copy of the ticket can be provided as a evidence.

    Timely reminder, thanks.

They can only build on that and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 which must be considered by the court whether raised by a party or not (s71).  So things like the clarity and prominence of the signage and the fairness of terms can be added but NOT things like landowner authority.

    "Redacted Landowner Contract

The Claimant has appended a redacted ‘landowner contract’ which has little or no probative value and which offends against the rules of evidence"

    Have you received claimant's WS?

No doubt you have/will number each paragraph.

Just checking  -  are you using the following WS template as advised above?:-

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/cd5oqk90qga96p9/Draft_Witness_Bundle_(redacted)_v3.pdf?dl=0
Thanks for your direct link for the latest WS v3 template. It's greatly appreciated.
You have mentioned above Redacted Landowner Contract . Is it something I should not mentioned in WS or what?
Sorry for my ignorance as I must admit here that I am just trying to follow the WS template and learning day by day so not sure what to put In WS for instance in contrast to WS template where the person got pcn for not buying ticket and in my case I had bought  the ticket, displayed on windscreen and left before the expiry  time ..

Also I have not received any Witness Statement from Claimant at all.  Will I receive their WS  before I submit before deadline ( 24th August ) or  will i have to contact them ?

I have read on the forum people quoting Claimants WS but not sure whether  will I receive it as part of the process as it will surely help on what basis they are dragging me to the court as they never particularly mentioned in their correspondence.  Therefore, I am struggling as to what to put I  my WS hence simply extracting info what I think relevant to my case.

As I said above, you can't introduce arguments not in your defence (except for one exception).

If what @YankeeBrit said is right, your WS is sadly limited.  But you CAN comment on theirs when it arrives and they'll have the same deadline as you do.

Thanks as always for your reply. I am understanding and learning  now that I made huge mistake of rushing to submit my defence as I was not aware of the this helpful forum at that time  so now I will wait for their WS and meanwhile prepare my WS . Much appreciated your support again.

It is a debt collector letter.  Did the guidance in the NEWBIE sticky fourth post not cover it?

No new threads about laughing at ZZPS letters please!  This isn't 'bad times'.

    Nothing happens.  ECP don't sue.

Sounds like you are taking the debt crawler a bit too seriously!  You must NEVER pay a Debt firm whinging about an inflated £170 PCN 'debt'.

    Search the forum for:

    ZZPS toothless

    or

    £170 ignore
    .

Everyone ignores them!  Laugh at the scary (NOT) demands.  Come back if you get a court claim but as I say, ECP don't sue people. No worries, even if they break the habit of a lifetime and try.

No problem, no risk, no CCJ: we defend and win but you won't get a claim for this one.

But also come back in August please, to take part in the Government evidence Consultation (connected to the publication today of the DLUHC's draft Impact Assessment to regulate private parking rogues).

I expect you will be very angry about this scam by then and will want your voice heard to change the law for good.

We've only just seen the DLUHC's update TODAY, and need a day or two in order to digest it but the Discussion thread is here:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6463361/dluhc-private-parking-code-call-for-evidence-discussion-thread#latest

That thread also includes a link I just added, to a newspaper article today about a person who is cheerfully ignoring £170 demands in behalf of ECP.

No new threads about threatograms please!

But the DLUHC's Draft Impact Statement is worth you mentioning in your WS so your Judge knows what is happening to stop rogue inflated court claims.

Thanks very much you prompt reply and useful information and link, was little stressed out but your response provided a sigh of relief.. meanwhile i checked and remember paying for the ECP icket over phone as machine was broken on that day so now they claiming for overlapping  timing as per their records but I will just ignore  them as suggested for now.
I am very eager to take part in government consultation as these scammers have give so many people like me sleepless nights.
