You need to follow the steps given in the Newbies Thread and then the Defence Template Thread, both of which can be found one click back as sticky posts at the top of the forum. These will tell you the first step is to acknowledge service online and then draft points 2 and 3 of your defence to add to the template. Please read everything carefully - do not assume or do the super stupid and attempt to file your defence using the money claim online page. Find and follow the instructions, read lots of other posts, search for similar cases.

Ifte.hussain1 said:The issue date if letter is 17th Feb 2023, but I only received this on the 22 Feb 2023.With a Claim Issue Date of 17th February, you have until Wednesday 8th March to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 22nd March 2023 to file your Defence. That's nearly four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.1 -
Thank you Keith, so do I complete the acknowledgement by filling in the paper form and posting this back? Should I post this via registered mail?0

Hi Keith, one quick question. I'm not denying I overstayed in the "free" car park, so what is my defence. I'm really confused. I was naive in thinking that Wren will sort this out for me.
Second question, if I lose will I have to pay more than the current £305?0 -

The second post in the newbies thread is the most impotant thing you need to read right now. It tells you everything you need to know.

Obviously if you lose, you'd pay less than the claim, not more. The claim is exaggerated by £70 and 8% interest which is extortionate.
And anyway we win, not lose.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
