Ohhh yes, we are definitely never too old for the pleasure of a new (or treasured old) lunch box or pencil case!
And it definitely makes me take lunch to work more!! maybe @applemuncher remembers this but the Spanish take their lunch so seriously that their lunch box game is enviable…
I also agree about alone time @thriftylass I love it more and more these days, but like you I have to work to carve it out for myself, especially as bf and I are opposites in that regard with introvert-extrovert tendencies
glad @ldee2111’s meeting went well and that you are now negative @Thrifty_Taylor, that must be a relief.
yesterday was NSD 4. All food from stores, writing and meditation done. No exercise.Grateful for waking up at 6:30 this morning to the sound of the rain and then snoozing for half an hour, for bf’s smoothies, for not getting my feet wet this morning when I stepped in a huge puddle.Student loan £5655

Hi All I am so excited as the ds1 health saga has moved on a notch today - a head consultant physio got him on a bike! A 2 wheel bike and considering that was his pride and joy before he got ill that is a small beginning of an other very long and lovely windy road to the future. SO that is what I am grateful for today.
And happy that my two French exchange students are happy when fuelled on Nutella and KitKats - they are teenagers after all. Happy days, even with a bit of snowy slushy now rain.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

NSD 3 for me today. Been at work all day. Tomorrow won't be though, as I have a dental hygienist's appointment before work. So a very early start needed too!Nothing very exciting today. Grateful for getting home to a warm house after being in a cold shop all day though!11

Great news, Ditty
Got dressings removed today. Everything is looking good. Next step a CT scan. Best day we've had since I noticed something wasn't quite right in December. The Boy drove us there. First day I've been out of the house since a week past on Monday. Came back on the train and got loads of YS bargains in Aldi. It's been a really good positive day. Onwards and upwards . xxxx
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10 -
Yay to @ditty1234 's number 1 son and his wheels of freedom- and to @Toni'sfriend 's most excellent day.Sticking on NSD5, only a small spend of £3ish, but it was necessary and could not wait. 'Earned' £12 on p/a, so still on the + side, even with a spend.Did the volunteery thing, made a difference, explained to some other people setting up a similar volunteery-thing just how much of a difference they will make, and a bit of what they will be taking on, and to be honest, they looked terrified. You take people home with you inside your head. Well, you do if you are doing it right.Grateful for yeast - made 3 fab pizzas for supper, had some dough left over, so made a fruited loaf with odds and sods from the pantry( 2 leftover glace cherries??? honestly?? Who does that??) Grateful for p/a and an ambient income. Grateful my little car started nicely this morning under its snow-duvet. Still on the same tank of fuel as I bought to do February.Keep warm Turtle-friends - today my gas and electric bill was £70 less than last month - what has changed? DH is back in his office at work. Ho Hum and Tiddley Pom...4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Great news @ditty1234.
Yes, @Shrewbie we are also a introvert/extrovert combo.
Another spend day. Had brekkie but on the way to court I remembered that lunch is not till 1, as I forgot snacks I bought a sandwich. Court was intense today and it's so hard not being able to offload, I'm an introvert but like to natter sometimes. Today the last witnesses were called up , tomorrow are the final statements and then we deliberate. So, hopefully we conclude the trial this week.

Slightly scary incident this morning as I tracked the fizzing popping noise to the laptop charger. Unplugged it, the laptop lit up when I opened it and my CPAP machine was functioning so not the extension bar - must be the charging cable. Took the laptop and cable downstairs to DS3 to ask him to order a replacement but after a bit of pushing and shoving he got it to work, but I was then stuck downstairs until it was charged as I was frightened of leaving it on it's own.
When it was done, I made myself a tin of soup to drink and cooked a pizza, both of which made me feel slightly better. This afternoon was lots of dozing off but I have put another load of washing in the machine, which meant I could throw down the bedding that needed washing - the mattress clean seems to have worked but the material I used to absorb any residue and I'd decide 2 covers with a spill of some kind could be used a few more days before washing.
Grateful for sleep and rest, good books, very slow progress.9 -
Woohoo @ditty1234 & @Toni'sfriend, great that things are moving in the right direction for you both! 😃
NSD#6
We still have some snow & ice. Took my time driving to work along my normal route, as it's mostly B roads, so not priority for the gritter, but it's a couple if miles shorter for me to drive. DS3 disappointed that schools were open again 😂
Had a bleep awful time up until morning break, thankfully my afternoon was nice. I was asked to measure & photograph surplus furniture, then play librarians with a colleague who makes me laugh
Took myself a walk round the block when I got home & listened to some music. Did the ironing, then after tea I sewed in 2 tricky zips. Waiting to go in the bath now.
Grateful for people who make me laugh, that I didn't slip on the ice carrying a box of books to & from my car, gorgeous scenery
This is the view from my school today 🥰 (the hill in the background is on another island, & the one I hiked up last summer. It's the highest peak on our islands)
Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

@Thrifty_Taylor gorgeous view.
Today was NSD 6.
We had no new snow last night and the roads are mostly clear, it's pretty cold (-5 when I went to work this morning and the same when I came home tonight!) but I can cope with that if I can get about.
