    East Lincs.
Some of prices I was quoted are:

    Tate-59.50
    Home Oil direct-57.99
    Chandlers-57.94
Total Butler(my usual supplier) 60. something(lol didn't bother to write that one down as they said(unusual for them) that they couldn't price match with 56.95.
Also tried Watsons, but again it was in and around the other higher prices.
56.95 was with Northern Energy. Was with them a few years back but switched cause of price, appears they are currently more competitive.

Will now spend the next few weeks price watching to see if I made a good call or not
  • Thanks for that. I live near Horncastle and have used Watsons for some years but they are no longer competitive. Last delivery I had was J&J Fuels in Boston. Best price at the time.

Never had a quote from J & J fuels, will remember that one for next year :) Too late for me now but what were they/are quoting?

Just had alook at the J & J website, which made me remember that Northern Energy do charge if you use a credit card(2.5 %), but not if you use a debit card it all needs to be factored in :)
  • It was May this year and J&J quoted 57.5 ppl +VAT for 500 litres. Watson wanted 65 ppl at that time. I paid by debit card, no commission and they didn't charge my card until some days following delivery!

However, currently stocking up with LOTS of logs for our two wood burning stoves :):)

Please can we all make it clear if VAT is included in prices/deliveries quoted?!?

From my experience, when you contact for a quote you tell them how many litres you would like and they give you a price per litre(based on quantity you want) excluding VAT. These are the prices I have given.

Nothing personal about my posting - I am more worried about the delivery of 1,000 litres (roughly a tonne) cost £xxx type of postings, where the figure given might be the total on the invoice.

In these days of unstable prices I have to juggle Solar PV electric/wood/coal/Economy7/oil.

The only one that is free of money and work is PV but there is not a lot of that about in the winter.:D

Not taken personally :) It is no fun trying to get the best deal on everything.

You might notice a big baled patch in the trees by my home ;)
