  • Not quite sure what to do, the oil price is dropping I've just been quoted 44.7p whereas in the Summer it was nearly 60p and only last week it was nearly 50p. Is it worth hanging on?
  • Depends, how much is in your tank and how long do they take to deliver?

I've just cancelled a Total order placed last Tuesday that still hadn't been delivered and re-ordered with a local firm Kinch, being delivered tomorrow. Yay! I saved on price compared with last week and we'll actually have some oil rather than promises!
  • I'm glad I waited now the prices is really dropping now, just been quoted 40p. that makes quite a difference on a 2000 ltr tank

Seems to be coming down quite rapidly now.
    I wish I'd waited. I paid 49p + vat last week.

You should be so lucky. I paid 60.5 p some weeks ago at £950 for 1500 Litres because it just seemed then that the oil price would just keep rising.

    NOW...........I am just a little peeved. :o

There, don't you feel better now?:j
You've heard the budget speech now you've been told. Make lots of cash then die before you're old 'Cause we're gonna Tax Gran that's what it is We're gonna Tax Gran freeze her allowances. You better hope next winter isn't cold. We're gonna Tax Gran, we're glad she's there. To subsidize the Billionaires. We're gonna Tax Gran and this is wrong!
  • Just got a quote online from heatingoil for 1000L for just short of 43p (ex Vat) next week delivery.
Don't know if I can do better because few sites respond on line or display prices.

  • As a supplier of wood fuel we are being inundated with requests for firewood with the ever increasing price of oil. But heres a word of warning to all of you considering this as an alternative. Firewood has been relatively cheap as in most homes it has never been considered essential. Firewood is in effect the low end product of the timber market and has always been given away. the price being paid at the moment just about covers the cost of production. Increased fuel costs means higher production and transport costs the days for cheap firewood are numbered and so if your buying from a merchant expect to pay double your current price by feb. of this year. Personally i view central heating as a luxury and not essential so have stopped buying oil. We managed without it years ago and we can again. Ok a 1 man stand is not going to push the price of heating oil down but I hate being ripped off which seems to be a tradition in this country that we all tollerate. Join me and just dont buy the stuff, somethings got to give.
