Once the car dealers and garages were able to open up following lockdown 1, my dad had a service and MOT done on his car and was charged a £10 PPE surcharge!! He was happy to pay as he had booked prior to lockdown but everything had to close a few days before, his booking and MOT's were suspended he was just happy to get the all clear that his car was safe and legal - he worried more about his cars MOT being cancelled than his urgent referral for a medical problem was cancelled due to Covid!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

£25 admin fee added to insurance renewals.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)1 -
A few years ago I rang sky as my contract was coming to an end and they always say to call them for the best price. The price they gave me was too high so I didn’t renew, and a few days later I noticed they had added a £10 fee to my account, when I enquired about it I was told it was a fee for the quote they gave me, and they would credit it back if I took the contract out with them, so a £10 fee for talking to them !!
I complained and did get the fee back but have never used them since.0 -
Enterprise car hire. They charged me £10 to send an email to an alternative email address than the one I used when booking. Even though this was just to include my company as proof of off hire. £10 to write out an email address basically!1

goater78 said:Not an add on as such but when booking some hotels recently (decent 4 star ones) in the room facilities included they have listed “toilet paper”. It seems strange this is being called out as if it’s an added feature you are lucky to receive.MFW 2021 #76 £5,145

If you book the royal box at the royal opera house, they charge you an extra fee to use the queen (now king's) actual gold and red velvet chair.
If you don't pay, they tie rope (sort of golden) over the queen (now king's) chair and give you standard plastic chairs to sit on instead.
Fortunately if you're a 'large boned" gentleman such as myself, you can sit on the rope and it's not too uncomfortable.
Would recommend for Mozart but not a full Wagnerian Ring Cycle3 -

Would recommend for Mozart but not a full Wagnerian Ring CycleA man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".4 -

We went to Morrisons last week for breakfast. Instead of putting the sachets of sauces out they dished them out, one to a customer. When my friend asked for more I stuck my head in the kitchen and asked politely. One person said “if you want more it will be 20p” then another said “they’ve had 2, they can have one more free”.
This wasn’t the only nit picking. They’d run out of fresh tomatoes and couldn’t use the ones on the shelf as they were more expensive
Apparently this parsimonious behaviour has been common since Morrisons was bought out by an American company0 -
Many moons ago went to a cafe for two teas to take away (three sugars and none).
I went to pay and it was a odd amount, so queried it and was told they charge extra for more than two sugars.
I pointed out there was only three sugars in two cups so the average was below two.
The guy wasn't having none of it and insisted I pay for the extra sugar.
I just said keep them and walked out with the teas on the counter.
