What is your oldest item of clothing?

Oldest I knowingly own is probably the flowery maxi dress that my mum had in the early 70s and gave me when i was a teenager. I had another look at it the other day, since it'd be right on trend
It's a bit huuuuge though, to the point where I find myself wondering if I've a much older long lost sister out there somewhere!
My oldest personally, probably the pixie boots I had when I was 13. Still wearable, but also still too short for anything but floorlength hems (I wasn't a fan of ankle-skimming boots in '94 either...)0 -
Mine is a dress I bought for a school dance when I was 16 years old. I'm 31 years old now and it still fits (even after my baby!) and it comes out every summer. So that would make it 15 years old!0

Mine's a stretchy purple top that was fashionable in the late nineties, so it's about ten or so years old. The only other comparable ones are my bike leathers, and I've tried to keep to their size for ages, but it doesn't always work that way!Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!0

My DH's oldest item of clothing is a jumper he bought for skiing in 1982 - still worn to this day. Mine is a white long jumper bought in 1992 which I still wear!0

Mine are a shirt and jumper I bought in 1992 and still wear today (just!) Also a handbag that was my nan's which is still going strong (I know it's not strictly a piece of clothing!)final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550

I have a Wrangler denim jacket that belonged to an ex-boyfriend that he got in 1972 so it is 37 years old and I still wear it on the very odd occasion. I have a linen skirt that was bought in Wallis in 1979 although it doesn't fit me now. I also still have my wedding dress from 1988 which I put on every anniversary - it still fits although strangely the arms are quite tight now! What a strange place to put weight on!0

I have (or at least my daughter still has) a red woollen shortie jacket that I bought in 1957. She borrowed it from me in the 1980s and has had lots of wear from it. It is a bit faded and rough around the sleeve ends, but it won't be thrown away.0

I love this thread!
I am sitting here thinking about how much stuff I have which is old and quite a lot of it is! I have a couple of pairs of trainers from when I was 15 and I am 27 now! maybe not considered cool but there is nothing wrong with them either!
I have a fair bit which I have had for over 10 years!

I have a crocodile clutch bag that belonged to my great aunt rose that she had during the 1920s and a silver bangle (way too big for me) that belonged to my grandma that she was given at school when she was 9 for not having a day off sick at all.0

I still wear a fab oversized black T-shirt nightie from Rogers & Rogers that I bought at least 15 years ago - it looks just as good now as it did then.
Luckily, it's HUGE so it still fits, as I've put on a fair few pounds since my early 20's!
Great thread, really interesting!
