Since I received the letter earlier in the week saying my case won't be until Feb 2025 I've received no less then three phone calls and voice messages from DCB requesting I call them to discuss the case...

    Desperate to settle I think...

Yep - answering might be fun. I would!

Please record them on a second phone.  I am gathering evidence of phone lies and bullying.

  • Hi all, once again I want to extend my thanks to everyone who has helped me and commented since I started receiving letters back in 2023. I still have my court hearing in February 2025 and I'm planning to complete and submit my witness statement this week, or early next to ensure that it is delivered to the local court in plenty of time ahead of my hearing.

As of yet I have to receive a letter of discontinuation, I have however received the latest of a string of emails from DCBL last week offering almost 50% reduction in 'costs' should I wish to accept, which I'm not willing to do.

Is there a 'text book' witness statement posted anywhere on any of the threads and I can use. My defence I took from a forumite that Coupon-Mad kindly pointed me in the direction of, Johnny85.

Think I've remembered all those correctly.

  • Thank you Coupon-Mad - Let me reach out to them and ask for the kind of witness statements that they submitted.

Once its over with the courts later this week / early next I can focus on what I'm going to say on when the hearing comes round early February.

My hope as ever is... it won't get that far and a letter of discontinuation will ensue...

It is definitely a good idea work towards completing your Witness Statement and gathering your evidence well ahead of any deadline.

However, it might be wise to delay filing and serving it until the last possible moment. An early submission would allow the Claimant to pick holes in your arguments and evidence whilst having plenty of time to do so.
  • HI KeithP, thanks so much for your message also... really sound advice. I'll look to complete next week and then submit 96 hours or so before the hearing, at the cut-off point.

I still have the permit I was issued somewhere so will dig that out and use that to show that I was a resident at the time the paper was stuck on my windscreen

Please post a redacted picture of the N279 NoD

that way @Umkomaas can your case to his discontinuations thread, yet more evidence for the government

It seems to me that the dcb legal labourers have spent this week sending out N279 forms as deadlines approach and a new year starts  !

Well done for sticking it out
