13 days after applying online and a week or so after sending back the paper form I've had a text from Ulster saying my account is open. No details or account number etc. Just a sentence that says I'll receive my welcome pack in the next 10 days.0

They do seem to take their time opening current accounst but once you've fulfilled the switch bonus requirements, they're pretty swift with the payout. My bonus was paid five days after lumping the money in, although it took the better part of a month to actually open the account.boingy said:13 days after applying online and a week or so after sending back the paper form I've had a text from Ulster saying my account is open. I'm not really complaining - I'm just amused by it. It's progressing and it will get there but it does seem that their account opening procedure is still a postal process even though you can make the application online. As I mentioned above, or maybe in another thread, it's a bit weird because the other two banks in the group really have embraced the online/app thing and you can open accounts in minutes and even deposit money in them before you have the card/PIN etc.gary1312 said:

I've finally got round to applying to Natwest and RBS and those are moving along, but I don't have a burner/sacrificial account for Ulster and I'd like to complete the hat trick

I'm using my First Direct and Starling for the switches, and I've already got Monzo, but I want to keep that as a lot of my friends have it, so it's useful for shared payments and so on.
Is there a recommended quick to open account which will work for switching (i.e. which is a CASS member)? It looks like Metro Bank might be a good option, does anyone know if they do hard searches?1 -
Apparently this offer ends on the 30th June. The source is... 'a notification in the snoop app'... how the hell they would know, I have no idea but there you go.0

Can anyone confirm if you can start the switch after you've opened a new account or does it have to be during the application to get the offer?0

New customers(b) as part of your application, transfer a non-NatWest current account to your new eligible account (which includes closing your non-NatWest current account and moving all your payment instructions [if any] to your new eligible account) using the Current Account Switch Service online or via the mobile app;

Despite this I started the switch into Ulster after I had got the account and received the £200. I'm pretty certain the switching offer was on when I opened the account.clivep said:ryan121 said:Can anyone confirm if you can start the switch after you've opened a new account or does it have to be during the application to get the offer?1. I have a bit of an odd question.
My partner and I want to open a ''bills'' account. He banks with Nationwide and I bank with Natwest already. If he were to open a separate Nationwide current account (which isn't his main one) and switch that to Natwest, could he open a joint account with my name on it, and still receive the switch bonus?

I tried to apply for the Ulster bank switch, I have the other 2, but I think they may have stopped it, when I click the link it's just a blank page......Doh, must have been to slow0
