OK I read this as being  able to see the cashback you have earned -  silly me.

Obviously you can see the cashback you've been paid - by looking at your transactions

    How to view your cashback

You can view the cashback you've earned online using our Banking app or Internet Bank. Or you can check your paper statement.

Remember, you'll get your cashback within 6 weeks of the end of each calendar month. So it won't be there immediately.

If we have your mobile number and you earn over £3 cashback per month, we'll text you to let you know the cashback has been paid into your account.

Anyone know where on the app you can find cashback so far, as I have been unable to spot where it is.
Don't think there's a rolling total, just a statement entry when it's paid after the month-end.
As it will only be paid within 6 weeks of the end of each calendar month, will it be visible on the statement at months end?

The whole procedure for seeing the cashback and then receiving payment seems very unclear.

^^^^ come on now: they don't want to make it easy for you!

I would assume that the cash back sum will be available within 6 weeks , and that's when it will appear on your statement. I don't have a smart phone or the app so don't expect anything earlier.

Long ago I had NW CC that paid cash back and the rolling total appeared on the CC statement.

Incidentally if you want to play the gift card game it appears in the grocery shop total- in Tesco anyway. Cards are valid for 5 years. You can top up the card by any amount from £5 (up to £200) so could spend say, £70 on groceries & then put £30 on the gift card.

Thanks, the way you've written it sounds clear enough. Don't know why I was complicating things.
No app for me either :o

email today in my inbox (only took 8 days to notify me!) :

5% cashback on your supermarket shop from 9 February up to 30 April 2023*

    • Each calendar month, we’ll work out what cashback you’ve earned and pay it into your Nationwide current account, up to a maximum of £10 per card.
    • We’ll pay your cashback into your account within six weeks of that month’s end. You’ll see it on your statement as ‘Nationwide cashback’.

So far, I have used my NW Visa Debit Card at a Tesco Express and Morrisons.

Today I have used the M&S Scan & Shop app and paid for items, from the food hall, via Apple Pay in-app. This appears as “M&S Outlet” in Apple Wallet.

Do Nationwide send messages confirming cashback?
The only message confirmation I have read about is that if you earn over £3 cashback per month and Nationwide have your mobile number you should receive a text message:

If we have your mobile number and you earn over £3 cashback per month, we'll text you to let you know the cashback has been paid into your account.

There is no other notification from Nationwide that I know about at the moment.
  • I have just received an email from Nationwide telling me about the 5% cashback offer!  ;)

I notice it says spend £200 per calendar month, and they notified me only yesterday so I have to spend at least £200 in the next couple of weeks in order to get the £10 cashback, if it started this month why didn't they inform everyone before it started..

  • I think the maximum cashback of £10 per month at 5% implies a maximum spend of £200 on your debit card at supermarkets, etc. I will only spend £80 this month so will receive £4.
The cashback is 5% up to £200 spend per month. No minimum me thinls.
