Bluntly; Stop being so ridiculous! Your target is self imposed. There’s absolutely no difference between 41 and 42!tiger135 said:if i can change my target from august to end of this year i can have a shot at buying again.
however , it means being at parents at 42, which is absolutely pathetic in my own mind.
especially when ive worked since i left school so have no excuses, such as being ill long term, not being able to find work etc.
the suggestion of trying to like where i am isnt an option, the furthest i could push it is moving the target to end of year.
its frustrating knowing i have the money there now but the whole transaction could take many months.
my next target after moving out is re training ( i definitely need the time and space for this ) to get a different job, so perhaps buying would make this more possible, as once settled ill be paying less and wont need to do overtime , something id probably have to do if i was renting at 1100 a month , to avoid dipping into savings.
You have a great deposit; which is more than a lot of people have
The transaction will take as long as it takes! At least you’ll be moving to your own place
It’s been said many times on this thread;if you’d found a place when you started this thread instead of keep going round in circles you’d be getting keys now
Just make a decision and get on with it instead of wasting even more time deliberating/ dithering
have you actually looked at any properties to buy? Widened your search area?

There's only a point in giving yourself targets if you stick to them.tiger135 said:if i can change my target from august to end of this year i can have a shot at buying again.

Your next target is retraining you say, fair enough, but if you are going to go through the same process with that, ie come up with reasons not to start, when to start, what type of training is best, most affordable etc, like you have with buying/renting you could still be asking on here in a year, 5 years, 10 years...by which time you might have had to move back in with parents or they with you, to look after them. Don't delay living on the offchance there will be a 'best time'. Seize the day!3 -
This thread seems to have been going in circles for a while now. Everything that could be said has been said, at least once, probably more. I’m not seeing any point in people continuing hashing over the same old ground for the umpteenth time. Time to leave the OP to their procrastination. All I need to do now is work out how to turn off the notifications. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.6 -
Bet you are glad you held back on buying now OP?0

Because S1M2 thinks that nobody should buy any property until the >50% crash happens. The crash they've been waiting for since about 2008.tiger135 said:whys that sarah ?1 -
well still struggling, cant see anything i want to buy and prices have been reducing often, whereas rental prices are all time high.
one bed flats near to work 1250 pcm, not even furnished. i only take home 1800 without overtime.
getting disheartened now, got 174k in bank but still stuck.
not sure how i will get out of this predicament.0 -
You buy somewhere that will do you for a few years rather than somewhere to spend the rest of your life.tiger135 said:well still struggling, cant see anything i want to buy and prices have been reducing often, whereas rental prices are all time high.

matt yes maybe its a being too fussy problem , looking at it too long term, if its a few years stepping stone maybe it makes an easier decision. i just wish property transactions didnt take so long.0
