they were over £150 a month which is like paying twice for council tax. plus i have realised i would like some kind of garden however small.
i have just enquired about a rental flat and the landlord is adding the service charge to the monthly rent, never seen that before!!!0 -
i guess if i could change my target to end of the year i could try to buy again but i will have possibly a few months being 42 and still here.0

Unless you're going to sleep in your car or on a friend's sofa, you'll have a few months being 42 and still there. Unless you buy a campervan.
Don't hold yourself to such an arbitrary target and beat yourself up because you haven't reached it.Shout out to people who don't know what the opposite of in is.1 -

stop feeling sorry for yourself and giving yourself ridiculous targets
Set yourself a realistic target; i.e buying a property but don’t put a timeframe on it; it takes as long as it takes 🤷♀️
Ref the service charge; significantly less than renting somewhere then; but I get the garden requirementMFW 2025 #50: £1989.73/£600007/03/25: Mortgage: £67,000.00
