Huge congratulations!  A job near home sounds great.  Annoying about the wet patch though, there's always something!

Congratulations on the job p, boo to the wet patch !
Thankyou. It's a damp patch on the wall. We've paid to have the grouting on the brick work done (mortar) but it either has been done in the wrong spot or hasn't helped. I Think It's slightly damp all year round if I'm honest but we get a very obvious wet mark when it chucks it down. No savings to fix it though

So current work knows I'm going. New work seems to be v quick with the HR process so far and has already done health questions a log in and bank details but time will tell. Getting nervous now. I'm going from being in my comfort zone to having to ask and learn everything even down to how to fill out timesheet, what to say when you answer the phone etc. I'll pick it up but it's horrible being the new person isn't it. Kids have had mixed reactions as it means a lot less time with me but salary calculator says once I get summer holiday out of the way I should start to see a difference! Until then going to try and be careful with money as I don't know what my final pay, when my new wage will be

It's horrible being the new person but hopefully it won't take long to settle in.

  • Congratulations on the new job! Being new is always difficult, but hopefully you will settle in quickly! I have been in my job almost a year, and still like to play the newbie card if I don't know

Hopefully the extra hours will make a difference with finances as well!

Thankyou. It should help finances quite a bit but it's a fixed term contract so I need to save as much as possible if it just in case. Then if it ends up permanent we need to have a little treat!

Not posted for a bit but have been lurking.
Notice handed in now ready for new job start to start next month. Finances a mess as will need lots of childcare in summer so will have to pay it before good wages start arriving. Just muddle through I reckon and reassess in sept.
