The old one was handy for the first couple of years. Definitely prompted us to cut down..we have been edging to 15 units a day for electric sonwe need to get it down.  We have TVs, games consoles etc and all.the usual but it still seemed high. I'm intrigued as to if this is correct we have been between 9 and 12 so far. But our biggest amount was when we were out all day so I really can't be sure yet. If I'm honest it looks a day out/wrong dates as I did mega useage on the day after it actually listed 12 units

Octopus have offered to send me the screen to link to the monitor. Still below 12 a day apart from a whopper of a day on Monday where it was 18 kWh. Culprit appears to be the shower. When the screen arrives I will know more.

So I've had news my job is for the chop. Will have the option of redeployment but my usual job is being culled. Bumbling along for now but once hr are involved I'll get all the proper notice and know timescales. New venture this year then!

Sorry to hear your job is going, but fingers crossed they will have somewhere else for you to fit in.  Maybe you will enjoy it more?  Either way I wish you well

Sorry to hear that, hope you get offered something decent otherwise.

Thanks. I work off-site at the at the moment. Worst case scenario is being based at the actual hospital. Purely due to parking. Staff pay to park off-site and get a bus in. The amount of time that adds to the working days puts me off as it it's a close shave then to be back by the endtime of the  wraparound care but I'll see what comes up in the job pool. It's a known reason for people not applying to work there -ah well a jobs a job though isn't it so I'll see what gets offered.  And yes hopefully whatever I do will be a good job!

it's just a horrible situation and unsettling.  Hope you find something suitable.

Yes it's the uncertainty isn't it. Don't know what I'll be doing in summer to sort holiday clubs out and things and our deadline for saying what wraparound care we want from September has already passed and the slots are now open to the new reception classes. On a plus note though we had enough rewards points from McDonald's for the kids to have have free mini mcflurries two days running!

  • @NeverendingDMP how stressful, I am sorry this is happening, especially that they tell you something is happening, but then it all goes quiet! I have my fingers crossed for you!

    Thanks all.
On a Completely different note our electric has been between 7 and 12 units a day for the last week. The sunshine has helped but the big spender definitely looks to be the oven (as expected) and the shower. V heavy on the cost. No gadget yet but guesswork from the graphs on the app says shower is costly.   Still quite a bit lower than it was before with the only change being daylight as opposed to lights on. I'll check again on a rainy and dark day to see if that explains the rest as our average used to be 15 a day. Maybe the old meter was running a a bit fast!
