It's weirdly satisfying using up loads of different things from the freezer :D

So I'm overdrawn until tomorrow morning. If I ignore that and look at what I've spent I've gone 30 over what would be a usual weeks budget. I've had to top up petrol a day early due to extra mileage at work and buy something unexpected for the kids so i can explain to myself where the money went...  I just need to build up a buffer for any future sick leave and get un overdrawn

So I've done the money shuffle. If I put less in each of pots (not ideal I know) then I will be back on track this month. And e fund still has just under 500 in it. If I round up my bank each day I could get to the elusive 500 soon 😂

Good luck with it :)  Have you got breathing space from your debts so you can have a break from paying for them for a minute?

The pots can only be filled from what you have, it’s perfectly ok to adjust the amounts.

Thanks jwil. I'm not paying any at the moment and stepchange are at about a 6 or 7 day turnaround for emails by the looks of things so I'm not expecting to start it up officially with them until after my next payday which is handy.

Thanks winter warrior. I've worked out what needs to go in the pots but as you say if it's not there it can't happen can it.  Ever so boring living to a budget though isn't it.

I've started a job application. Full time post. Temp to perm which I'm worried is a bit risky as my job is permanent. Someone on the inside however has told me it's almost a dead cert to be made permanent they just like to try before they buy! Very local and hybrid working though so it's a full time job I can afford to apply for. (I know that sounds strange)

It doesn't sound strange at all, the risk will be worth it.  Good luck with the job application.

Delay the start date of your DMP as long as you can.  It will be worth it to be able to get on top of things.  There's no harm in telling SC that your DH has been ill so income reduced, so you need to wait a bit longer.

Application sent in. See what happens. Deadlines in a couple of weeks. I'm happy in the job I do and the people are lovely but I'm now on the same as  minimum wage. It will go up when nhs wage increases are announced but realistically it's not gonna go past 12 an hr unless major changes are made. Who knows what will happen. It's a pain that it will be June or July before the nhs wage is discussed.

Not much to report other than having our smart meter updated. Last one was out of date so I requested a meter that we could actually use to track usage. Didnt get given a display so I've asked for one of those. On first impression our energy use has dropped by three or four units a day. Interested to see if that's just not having the lights on or whether it's correct. Hoping it's correct and now wondering if the last meter was totally accurate

Good luck with the new smart meter.  We haven't got one yet and I keep contemplating it, but am on the fence.  We're not huge users anyway, so I don't think it would make a difference in terms of our bills, but would be handy not to have to remember to read the meters.
