DH payday on Friday and mines in 23 days. It's gonna be a long few weeks. My wages have been nearly six weeks apart. I saved the d debits ready but our turkey was over the estimated price and we spent too much on Xmas food so it's a tight budget. I'm doing dry January. See if I last the month ha ha. DH wasn't interested but he's pretty dependent on the stuff so I'm not sure it would be a good idea for him.in all honesty.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Thanks. I made it till 20th last year then had an event so caved. It's for health reasons as much as any. Drinking isn't good for you and I want to have the occasional treat not a weekly expectation. A few pounds left in the bank till tomorrow and a voucher for Sainsbury's to spend and save some money is at the ready. I'm. Im not a regular shopper there but every so often I get sent a spend 60 get 6 off so thought I'd try it. Asda rewards isn't making me much now the format has changed from rewarding X amount spent so I thought I'll have a try of the other shops. Nectar app download all done. Tomorrow I get to visit a big shop ...help...Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Another swimming stage passed for eldest child. He had been in his stage for four months and we felt nothing was being properly recorded skills wise by his teacher. Moved him to a different group/teacher just to see. He did one lesson before Christmas (they did fun play) then an actual lesson today. The teacher did a couple of things in the lesson that he passed then kept him back afterwards which was very kind of her as she had finished all her classes. She gave him a few things to do and moved him up to the next stage. (apparently she had said to him in the lesson why are these not ticked off for you you are doing really well. )
Excellent news but we now have three children in three different classes again ! And his next stage is one of the higher ones so I have to figure out if we can even get anyone to take him. The trials and tribulations of children's swimming lessons eh. If you know you know!!!! V proud though and it's about time he was passed on it. He's been obvious for weeks he needed to move up. He was doing a length before the others are even half way.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

I spent many a year at the side of the pool, with my 3 taking it in turns. They all started out with parent and me classes then progressed onto their own lessons. They all got to the stage of being able to swim well, being able to save themselves and then when the lessons became more about stamina and swimming length after length, that is when they said enough and time to try something new. Well done to your eldest - it is annoying when they can clearly do the tasks needed but boxes remain untickedMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Yes similar here. All three can do a length. Two of them can do a few in a row and I would be happy to sit on the side of the pool as I know they are strong enough (but I enjoy a good swim so I get in too!) ,the third I'm still at the I'll swim nearby and do a length with you stage as it's swim with a bit of doggy paddle thrown in. They are all still willing to go at the moment and the eldest needs some output and decent exercise for the hormones and angry moments that are creeping in so I'll hold out as long as we can get away with it. His next stage looks to be stamina and lengths and learning the tumble turns which tbh he can already do but hopefully he will be happy -if I can find an adult to take him that is.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Weekly shop done at Sainsbury's used the scan as you go gadget. Weird but I'd use again and got nine pounds off my spend with a voucher they had sent me. Will likely need a top up shop early next week for the dreaded pack lunches but hoping I can get to next Friday with some pennies or pounds left over!Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213
