Well done to eldest!  It's so frustrating when they don't seem to be getting marked and moved on.

So in Jan 18 joint debts were 35213. I've just realised we have broken the half way barrier. (again -quickly gloss over that bit eh)
    We are officially at 17337!
    49.23 of our debt remains.....
Aiming for sub 16 by end of year. Sub 15k would be a fantastic aim. May or may not be achievable but I'll try!
    Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

    Mortgage Jan 18- 77224 May 25- just under 65k

June 25 Debts in my name only £5170. DH can't keep track...
  • Just for the sake of keeping a record.
Debts in order (some got swapped around  and b transfer a bit again)

    155 me
    1318 DH
    1996 me
    2047 me
    2155 me
    2640 me
    2654 DH defaulted/arrangements with a DCA
    4372 DH defaulted/arrangements with a DCA
The aim is minimum payments but reduce the 2047 as the interest on that will be high when it starts up again. And to not transfer anything else into my name like I did earlier in the year. I know that's sounds strange when we are married but I'm trying my best he's still applying for more credit  ???
Mortgage is fixed till August. I'll keep you posted what offers we get next month via our bank.

It is very hard to clear debts when other halves are not as committed to the cause.  I paid off debts 3 times for XH before he left.  I do often wonder if the new woman is having the same issues because I know he hadnt changed lol
    Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
    Debt £2547.60 / £2547.60
  • Some people just are clueless about cashflow or refuse to take the responsibility I'm not sure which it is. We have defaults, debt, living month to month like half the country. DH has been getting quotes for car finance. The words give me strength are circling in my head at the moment.
On a positive I've just done some admin polls on viewsbank and seen I've passed the threshold so have 19 coming me way mid Feb!

Well done on clearing half!  That's a great result.  It's definitely hard when not everyone is on board.

Debts the same. Grocery challenge a pass the first week and a fail this week. And another swimming stage passed by second eldest. No one has mentioned it yet but I'm sure someone will twig and request a McDonald's for it.
Youngest child has been in same stage for five months so we tried to keep it discreet eldest two are doing well and moving up every few weeks it seems

I think they start moving up quicker as they get through the stages, learning the technique and building up stamina is always the hardest!

  • Yeah hopefully falls into place one day. Until then it's like pulling teeth.

  • Budget reset day was Friday. Aiming to win my grocery challenge this week. Internet is also up for renewal. Currently we have now TV. I'm happy dh not keen and wants virgin. Internet speeds with them advertised as faster but 15-20 a month dearer. Undecided. And the thought of a long contract puts me off in case it turns out to be rubbish. 😂
Plenty of offers around at moment so not a bad time to look I suppose.
