Payday tomorrow so things will have a bit of movement budget wise in the next couple of weeks again. Aiming for sub 19k this month. And possibly sub 70 on the mortgage this month or next.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Payday and money all swapped about. DH paid weekly so I never have the full bank account feeling but it ticks along. Should break the 19k barrier this month which will be niceJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Payday has been and gone. Already scrimping. DH couldn't give me usual funds this week ...again....not helpful.... but anyways e fund is now down to 25 pounds to help main account have enough in it for bills. I still have 77 in the chase account to cover petrol food and activities till next Friday. I've got some shopping in already so hopefully I should make it.
School uniform fund is pretty non existent as well now but we have already bought stationary, polo shirts and highschool shirts. The pinafores should still fit and I've a selection of primary pe kit it to hand down from eldest . I got some high school pe shorts from a uniform pop up shop which has saved me 16 quid. Gonna have to get the eldest new uniform on the c card I think and repay over next 1-2 months. Might try the pop up again in a week or two as they said they might get more donations and I've some to drop of to themJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Is there a reason the DH cant pay the full amount again, or is it just because he is spending on things he would like. Hopefully he might pay a little extra next weekMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Pants at budgeting is the polite way of putting it. And yes spending in other weeks on the wrong things meaning at certain times of the month he has too many bills that come.out yet nothing left in the bank for them. He's weekly paid which I suppose makes it harder to budget but he's only responsible for about 5 or 6 d debits now and he still is pants. No excuses though.its annoying.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

XH was the same so I know what it is like to not get much help with the money side of things. I paid for all house bills / food etc so I knew they would be paid. He was left to pay for his petrol, his phone and his going out. He still never had any money.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Same. It's so rubbish..I'm a low earner so I feel we will never catch up. And I'm at the point now where I really do need to set aside money for me to have work clothes, shoes etc. Two steps forward twenty back eh. And the cost of living thrown in the mix doesn't helpJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

I was a stay at home mum and relying on benefits to keep a roof over our head. He always used to accuse me of taking all of his money but would not think twice about going out drinking several times a week, smoking and a phone contract of over £60. Mine was £7 and I was scraping every penny I could together and bring up our 3 children on very little. Not sure how I did it, but it has got better (mainly as he is now a XH lol). I still find it hard to spend money on me and go for the cheaper / free options 9 times out of 10.
Keep going , it will get better I am sureMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
