Hello all! I managed 5 pieces of fruit and veg yesterday, so although I didn't hit my goal of 7 I am pleased. I also stopped painting the woodwork at 9.30 last night rather than exhaust myself today.
Thrifty Thursday: managed to get some garden plants 4 for £8 in q&b - sorting the garden is going to be our project next week, needs a huge overhaul (thankfully it is a small garden) and it is half term so we will be out there (3xdc and myself) every day getting it sorted. We haven't planned anything else for half term (funds are tight this time of year) and we have our garden budget that we saved from last year and dh has added a little to it, so next week the dc are going to earn their keep 🤣.

My Thrifty Thursday:
- Budgets checked this morning - all on track
- Chilli con carne in the SC, so reduced energy usage
- Washing dried on the airer in the spare room - would have put outside but weather looked iffy earlier
- Cinema later using our Odeon limitless pass (£14.99/month for unlimited viewings)

I did do a face pack this morning and coloured my roots as they really needed doing. I felt a bit better afterwards. When I went out to the shop after it felt warmer than I expected. I really am looking forward to Spring.
I tried to use my trampoline today and yesterday and managed 5 minutes yesterday and 6 minutes today. I must really be out of shape after having Covid last week as that 6 minutes felt very long to me today! I'm going to try and build up on that if only by using it one minute more each day.
Thrifty Thursday - my dog is at the kennel again this weekend and early next week (I already had the cash to pay for that in an envelope) and we have a few days out planned, but on a budget. We have two cinema trips planned with the discounted tickets we bought and we will be bringing our own snacks and drinks with us. We have a concert next week that we paid for last year and we might just get a bag of chips beforehand. We will probably eat out at a restaurant for Valentine's day. To keep costs down I won't have any wine and we can share a starter and a dessert. I might have to book it now thinking about it.:)

How many films do you see a month would you say on average?2025 GOALS

We try to go once or twice a week, but even once a week it's worth it as tickets are now c.£10 each. It also makes you go to see a wide spectrum of films and not just the blockbusters. Last week we saw The Fabelmans and Plane, and the week before the Whitney biopic and Till. All very different films. We reactivated our membership after it paused during lockdown and since Oct 2021 I've seen 48 films. It helps that it's only a 10 minute walk away. Oh and we NEVER buy refreshments!Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings10

Fab Friday.Hello My Lovely Friends
does anyone remember a tv programme called "Ready Steady Go". A 60s pop programme hosted by Cathy McGowan. She's was so cool. It was on a Friday at 6pm. The tag line of the programme was "The weekend starts here". I used to watch it and then head out to the youth club.Happy Days.Well it's Friday again and the weekend lies ahead. No real plans, I just want to crack on with the deep cleaning. But I shall do my best to fab up today for my chiro appt. And I shall walk there and back for extra brownie points.Another lovely sunny morning. Long may it last.Have a Fab-u-lous Friday.12 -

It's also a sunny morning here and I'm catching up with my washing.
Hope everyone has a FAB Friday.8 -
@helensbiggestfan. Can I join in please, I am much enjoying your daily updates. I remember Cathy McGowan, she was someone I admired, along with Jean Shrimpton & Sandie Shaw. I am in my 70's, still half that age mentally but unfortunately my body has decided to act it's age! I've developed several health problems over the last couple of years which I refuse to give in to. I am mainly vegetarian but have a little fish now & then, & make all meals from scratch, avoiding additives as much as possible. I have just returned from a half hour walk along a lane with sea views, always a spirit lifter. After a cup of tea (trying to avoid too much coffee), I'll do a spot of gardening if the mizzly weather improves, followed by a longer walk this afternoon.
