As you mentioned that you have existing savings in Halifax, I would do this in this particular order paying attention to the important bits in bold:
1. [Halifax] Create another Halifax current account. This will ensure your Halifax savings are still easily accessible in future after the switch.
2. [Lloyds] Upgrade your existing Lloyds classic to Silver or above.
3. [Lloyds] Switch into the now upgraded Lloyds with either your original Halifax account (this will pull your DDs and wages etc into the newly upgraded Lloyds), or just switch the new Halifax account you created into the Lloyds.
4. Wait a week or so for the Lloyds bonus to be paid and the switch to complete.
5. One of your Halifax current accounts will now be automatically closed, but because you created a spare Halifax account in step 1 you will still be able to log in to Halifax and access your existing savings using your remaining Halifax account.
6. [Lloyds] Downgrade Lloyds to classic if you decide you don't need the club benefits/insurance products - otherwise you will pay a monthly fee.
Hope this is clear enough
However the staff said holding a lloyds basic account despite all my DD, wages in Halifax I cannot get the incentive, I can switch, however it is because I have the basic account in Lloyds.
Ill try again with the link provided before
I'm sorry however I will re read.
Only once you have a Silver account you can start the switch process.
I did ask to switch from Halifax to silver
However once I have the silver, because I have the silver, im not eligible to switch because I already have the silver account (which they said to qualify it has to be a silver account)
Or I'm reading it wrong, it's current account to current account switch
Should I open new account or upgrade?0 -
Thanks at PloughMansLunch, I keeping thinking it's march0

Even just reading this thread I'm losing the will to live.
Those of you patiently repeating and repeating what has to be done give me hope for humanity and the kindness of strangers.5 -
Thank you all, I know now what to do and thank you all for your kindness.0

I've successfully upgraded, my debit card is on the way

Is there a timeframe where I need to switch as I just upgraded to sliver today to receive the incentive?

You need to start your switch from your Halifax account to your upgraded Lloyds Silver account by 07th March 2023 and meet the rest of the terms to be eligible0 -
You can now start the switch from the bottom of the Lloyds page linked in the above post using your Halifax current account and Halifax debit card details.
Bear in mind that if you have an existing Halifax Everyday Saver or an existing Halifax Regular Saver that has any money in it, then you will either need to withdraw this savings money before the switch completes, or create an additional Halifax account in order to keep access to these savings. You should be ok to do this at any time before the switch completion date.
