I switched after I upgraded which the Lloyds landing page stated Lloyds club silver on the 7th. I got a letter on the 14th.
What does this letter state? Quote the product name specifically.

It just says the balance and DD transferred to my Lloyds back account. I could phone them again to give my letter ref. It just says Lloyds Bank account.

On the 5th, it definitely did not say the switch is on the way, it will be completed by this specific date on the 5th. It stated something wrong with the systems. As the screenshot says.

Upgraded on the 7th, switched on the 8th and it stated by the 17th everything will be complete. Why was I allowed to do this.

The staff member goes on the 5th received.

Maybe the length of the completion date (14th) indicates what switch date (5 or 8) what day it could've been.

I'm not sure if the Cass works on Lloyds basic.

Unfortunately I did look back and did receive a letter dated on the 6th for a switch.

It sounds like your first attempt to switch on the 5th did go through, regardless of the error message. Sometimes I've had similar with payments for instance, it doesn't necessarily mean it's not gone through, only that there's an error displaying the next page.
When it doesn't allow an action it normally tells you specifically that it hasn't gone through and you have to contact them or try again or something, not just a generic error page.
Because your switch date was the 14th, it would also indicate that it was your earlier request, not the one on the 7th with completion due on the 17th. It would probably allow the second request because the switch hadn't happened yet and you can switch as many accounts as you want into one.
I would call them again, ask when, in their records, the switch was requested and when was the switch completed. If it was your first attempt I don't think there's much you could do as it wasn't a qualifying account at that point, other than initiate another switch into your account, the offer lasts until March 7th.

    Thanks.

It seems like I made a mistake which is a learning lesson.

I don't have any more dd, hence I cannot do another switch.

Nothing stopping you now switching the Lloyds account to another bank for a pay out though.
