New Santander £200 Switch Offer - January 2023

Looks like I received a switch offer from Santander in Oct 2021 (I still use the account). Anyone know how hot Santander are at checking?0

Basic accounts are current accounts just like any other. If you're able to open a qualifying Santander account then yes, you can use your Nationwide account as a donor account for switching.SammiJxx said:Can anyone tell me if I am eligible to switch to Santander from a Nationwide FlexBasic account?2 -
Another question -
2.3.3 funded your Qualifying Account with at least £1,000 (either by one or more deposits);
Do I have to leave a minimum of £1000 in the account - I will probably transfer £1500 into the account when I switch but this will be used for bills etc over the month?
Thanks

I think I commented on a similar question earlier in the thread. There is no requirement for the £1000 deposit to remain in the account. You can pay it in and then immediately move it elsewhere if desired.SammiJxx said:Another question -

I currently have 3 accounts with Lloyds - Main account where my income comes in, Bills account where all my direct debits come out from (i just transfer the needed amount from my main when income comes in) and third a simple savers account.
I have this morning started the process for a switch of my main account to Santander and been accepted.
Thoughts are i will initially just transfer 2 x direct debits as required to the Santander account, along with having my income into this account too...... that should qualify for the £200 switching bonus.
I can still transfer money from Santander to Lloyds for the other bills.
When the switching bonus is paid i´ll open a bills and savers accounts and be done with Lloyds.
My thinking is doing it this way it won´t confuse the switching bonus..... unless you savvy people know of a better way?
Many Thanks0 -
If you have had Lloyds for years then I would hang on to that as it shows stability.
Nothing wrong with the Club Lloyds- just need to juggle more money in- and then straight out. worth it for a smidgen of interest and a magazine subscription!
It is wise these days of IT glitches & meltdowns to have accounts in more than one bank just in case one cuts you off without any access for a day or two (or even more)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Did they say when you where on the phone that you where eligible for the switching offerMikeJXE said:I spotted this switch thanks Santander and MSE
I have Santander 123 account and just switched another account into it
The internet says existing customers need to go into a branch
After going round in circles I find the number of their appointments service and gets put through to the switching service
All done for me on the phone and will complete the switch 31st January
Another £200 heading my way
When will I get my cashback payment?
We’ll check if you’re eligible for the cashback offer 60 days after you first told us to switch your account. We’ll then pay £200 cashback into your qualifying account within the next 30 days.
You can expect payment around 90 days after you told us to switch your account, as long as you’ve met the eligibility criteria.

3.4 We reserve the right to not make any Cashback Payment where we suspect or are made aware that the Switcher Offer is being abused, for example, by closing an Old Account to switch back to us to receive the Cashback Payment.pecunianonolet said:Hi all,
Santander launched a new switching incentive with £200 and details can be found here. It's also been mentioned by Martin here. Takes a bit of effort with pay ins and direct debits but shouldn't be a problem for our switch expert here
Also, "You can either switch to a new account, or one you've already got with us." so you are not automatically excluded if you already have a Santander account.
Great opportunityfor for those with the Lloyds switch in progress/ completed. As Lloyds allows further current accounts without hard search that will be the perfect account for the Santander offer. Alternativly, a dummy account can be easily opened with other banks such as Metro bank, Monzo, etc.
Edit: Could this be moved into the Budgeting & bank accounts area please. Posted in the wrong tab

And what are you trying to tell me with this post? I am aware of that. I have a cc and an esaver with them but no current account (yet).35har1old said:
