How do believe Santander scammed you?FDigital said:Although the £200 looks good, I am hesitant to open again a new account with these scammers.
So it’s not possible for someone to close their Santander account and open another elsewhere?FDigital said:It's only worth taking the risk if you start switching for free money now...because you'll have an option later to move away... however, for people like me who switched all the bank offers last year, the option to get stuck with them is very high.0 -
It's an old story that put me in big trouble for some payments, took a lot of time, and stress to sort out the mess, and don't have a problem with the company loan, mortgage, and my credit score.AmityNeon said:

Of course, after you get the £200 you can close the account with them and move to another bank.
I just put my own experience I will never make Santander my first account for banking, for switching and free money don't seem a big issue, however, you can be trapped with them for up to 90 days if you want the £200 but you are not happy about Santander services0 -
New account opened within 10 mins and switching underway from Monzo burner account. Bring on the next offer 😁0

Not my experience, opened a new Monzo 5 weeks after switching old one.WillPS said:As soon as you have the Monzo debit card number, which will be neccessary to initiate the switch.FYI don't use Monzo as your burner unless you don't care that you won't be able to open another Monzo account in future, they are very sniffy about rejoining customers who have previously switched away.
Mind you, I've just initiated switch of this one to Santander, they might not be quite so accommodating again.
Unfortunately this is my experience. Switched two years ago and they still decline me a new Mozon account.

Does it really take 90 days to get the incentive? Most other banks are a lot quicker
Errrr...come back later

From experience with past Santander offers, they usually pay out around the 50-60 day mark after becoming eligible. There's no requirement for them to pay out quickly, just that they pay out within the timeframe they are advertising in the offer terms.Wesker said:Does it really take 90 days to get the incentive? Am I reading it correctly that we can set up the direct debit on the santander account when opened rather than it coming across from the burner?0

I already have mine in place, but yes, I believe so. I went with the Everyday Account and terms said ‘within 60 days of telling us to switch you’ll need to have set up 2 active direct debits’Players4you said:Am I reading it correctly that we can set up the direct debit on the santander account when opened rather than it coming across from the burner?0 -
Have you still got this number please, as the person on end of number I just tried said it couldn’t be done over phone but it may be that I caught him just before end of his shift so he didn’t want the hassle.MikeJXE said:I spotted this switch thanks Santander and MSE
I have Santander 123 account and just switched another account into it
The internet says existing customers need to go into a branch
After going round in circles I find the number of their appointments service and gets put through to the switching service
All done for me on the phone and will complete the switch 31st January
Another £200 heading my way0 -
The switching team number is 0800 085 2202, as reported at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/78603209/#Comment_78603209 and https://www.santander.co.uk/assets/s3fs-public/documents/switching_your_account_factsheet_jan21.pdf^opm^ said:
