I’ve just opened a burner account with Monzo this morning, how soon can I start the switch from Monzo to Santander?"If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett
Save £12k in 2025 - #024 £1,450 / £15,000 (9%)0 -
As soon as you have the Monzo debit card number, which will be neccessary to initiate the switch.FYI don't use Monzo as your burner unless you don't care that you won't be able to open another Monzo account in future, they are very sniffy about rejoining customers who have previously switched away.

Mind you, I've just initiated switch of this one to Santander, they might not be quite so accommodating again.0 -
Although the £200 looks good, I am hesitant to open again a new account with these scammers.I have probably never had a worse bank experience in my life than Santander. Do some research on Google, check the reviews, and decide if it is worth the risk to have direct debits through them. It's only worth taking the risk if you start switching for free money now...because you'll have an option later to move away... however, for people like me who switched all the bank offers last year, the option to get stuck with them is very high.0

I have been with Santander 123 account for 10 years and never had a single issue with them, all my direct debits go out of that account about 10 in all
The app and website are seamless and both easy to navigate, ok they are a bit over the top on security but for me thats good news
I have just switched in FD account, completed it over the phone in about 10 minutes

IMO people who post on sites such as trustpilot have something to moan about rather than compliment.
Just like some on here who complain about eBay, Amazon, home deliveries, all bad news and no one has a word to say how good some of them are
I'm just giving my experience4 -
Never had an issue with my savings account or dealings with them either. Hardly any financial institutions have good reviews on trustpilot and it's not very likely that Santander would be one of the biggest banks in the country with millions of customers if they were as appalling as all those trust pilot reviews make out. Why are on earth look at trustpilot for such massive brands as Santander anyway, fair enough if you are checking out some small challenger bank or something you need feedback on.0
