I have had an open mind but have started to think not everything in this thread may be true. Is there a reason MSE will not let your friend join their free online forum?1

I don't believe that for a minute🤨Standingstrong said:Update they wont let her join. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
she’s properly annoying me with all her drama now and I’ve just told her straight over the phone. It’s annoying me😵💫
so with regards with the answer the letting agency has told her to do breathing space , would this pause the proceedings for 60 days? They’ve told her yes it will and when she’s read online it isn’t very clear it just says yes it does then it’ll resume after .
i honestly do not know why the LA has asked her to do breathing space …
mind boggling
and I’ll most definitely be cutting ties with her after all this
I've also never known a letting agency advocate a tenant doesn't pay their rent. The landlord is paying them to collect rent and manage that not encourage arrears to build
You haven't answers the question of did she pay off the arrears like you said she did in your previous posts.2 -
I don't think the breathing space is to stop her from paying rent, it's just to stop any legal action. That's what I'm reading into it anyway.
I may be wrong.Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool.0 -
The friend is posting on landlordZone4

And it reads the same as the posts here except alludes to the fact they knowingly signed up for a £1250pcm rent with little to no income (£360pcm) and knowing their savings would run out (albeit not as fast as being "stolen" by an alleged fraudster and not returned by the bank)anmarj said:The friend is posting on landlordZone
They gave no indication at all the problem was solved by paying the arrears on their prior post there (unlike OP here) originally.
Both threads running parallel though to each other.5 -
Standingstrong said:The letting agency advised her to do a breathing space ?!?and that’s what she has done!! I’m only going by what she’s telling meAlso she asked me to ask would they still be able to do the posession thing or would it be paused for 60 days due to the breathing space. She’s driving me insane…Is she not planning on paying her rent for this time + when the ll does go for eviction? what does she want to gain from this? Maybe take this 60 days (if given) to move out, would she get a reference for another place even. Why do I have visions of a learning disability not just PTSD.The letting agency sounds like crap, how are they still in business. First they won't let her pay because 'the lady' isn't in, now they don't want her cash. Has she not set up a SO to pay the rent going forwardNo-one gets denied from joining a forum, didn't registered correctly probably.Debt £7976 | Savings £350Aims: Buy first home 2026-8. £20k deposit0

OPs friend has been posting on Landlord zone since 12 January about this issue.
The information given over there differs from the information shared on here.
I’m out.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.5 -
Let the owner of the story share their story otherwise key vital information will be missing.
Just pay the rent in the first place and won't be in this situation. Landlords are not charities.

The OP and their friend really do have remarkably similar writing styles don't they - it's probably a good thing that the "friend" doesn't start posting here too else they would almost certainly end up both being reported to the forum team under the "Dual Account" rule.
