Is it worth changing to Octopus Tracker now?

The gas tracker rate is reflected on my IHD (just reflected today, smart meter installed about 12 days ago) but agile just shows the EPG. I guess with tracker it is much easier, just one http request per day while Agile is a bit more complex - can still be done with one http request. Until many more companies have Agile like tariffs, not sure the manufacturer will be motivated to include the functionality.ChaunceyGardiner said:
Yes, smart meters and IHDs don’t reflect the daily Tracker price._Sam_ said:Is this normal that the Tracker rates are not reflected in the smart meter? I just checked Bright and it shows SVR rate (gas tracker if that makes a difference)0 -
Thanks for the heads up on this. Switched to tracker via Twitter today.0

They average out your usage between readings according to an industry formula. So if you want to make use of a cheap period and reduce usage during an expensive one, make sure to give them the necessary meter readings to be charged accurately.paul235 said:I do not have a smart meter ,if I switch to the Tracker tariff do daily gas and electric readings get used or estimates?
Also meter readings are taken as being up until 11.59pm the previous day.1 -
Download OctopusWatch or Octo-Aid and you can see your daily Tracker cost the following day. Sadly, as this screenshot shows occasional 30 minute data loss can be an issue. For Octopus Gas Tracker, it does not stop billing:

For Tracker, if you provide a daily meter reading it will be used for billing.paul235 said:I do not have a smart meter ,if I switch to the Tracker tariff do daily gas and electric readings get used or estimates?1 -
Currently wind generation is high, but when it goes down, prices probably go up.
If Octopus still let you leave whenever you want penalty free, then by all means sign up, but keep an eye on the rates. As you will be joining with a high cap.0 -
Is that still locked to selected beta tester on iphones only for octopus watch? As was the case a few months back. My octopus watch app on android shows no gas data.[Deleted User] said:Download OctopusWatch or Octo-Aid and you can see your daily Tracker cost the following day.
