I would also like to ask a clarifying question please (thanks @Band7 and @Bridlington1 for starting this thread and the heads-up!)
I have Money Dashboard and they as far as I know also use Open Banking. However, several of my accounts (Chase, Marcus, Zopa, Atom) did not seem to work for the automated connections so I have them set up as Offline Accounts in MD and have to update the balances manually.
If Yougov uses this same system, does it mean I will not be able to add these accounts?0

None of the 4 banks you mention appear on the list of available institutions to hook up so I guess the answer is no.

I'm not sure what they could learn from this that I could possibly care about them knowing.Adyinvestment said:I can't believe anybody would actually do this, let alone actually want to.
Oh well, there will soon be digital money, digital Id's, carbon credit scores, social credit scores etc... I guess many don't care about privacy/independence anymore as long as there is a few quid in it.

Added my accounts, except for Virgin Currents/Savers and the YBS accounts due to technical errors - anyone had any luck with these?1

Virgin seems to be an ongoing issue that has been raised earlier in the thread. I can't say I've had any luck with YBS either. All I get is a message telling me that I have no eligible accounts, despite holding 4 easy access accounts with them.dcs34 said:Added my accounts, except for Virgin Currents/Savers and the YBS accounts due to technical errors - anyone had any luck with these?2

They could learn an awful lot if they wanted, what time and place someone usually buy their daily cup of coffee, what pub someone goes to on a Friday night and what time they usually buy their last drink, where and what time someone withdraws weekly cash ... with enough information it would be possible to map out how someone lives their lives.
Although I don't believe anything sinister is the purpose you are literally giving the keys to all your financial info to an internet marketing business that is paid by their customers to collect your data.
Below is taken from the YouGov terms
"YouGov finance will be able to read your:
 - Full name
 - Accounts
 - Balance
 - Transactions, direct debts and standing orders- We collaborate with our third-party partner TrueLayer to access a two-year history of your banking transaction data, which includes transaction value, vendor information (the party you have paid or received money from) and the date of payment."

I can't imagine what could possibly go wrong with some profit making company having access to all the information about how you spend your money...3

To stay on topic, I won't ask what your objections to profit making companies is - just want to remark you are posting on the forum of a profit making company.

I was simply answering a question, I had no intention of posting on this thread again. I have no problem with profit making companies...I own one.Band7 said:Adyinvestment said: You obviously can imagine what could go wrong, for why else do you warn people? There isn't really any need to give them information about how you spend your money. The accounts I gave them only exist to generate incentives from the banks, so have a few artificial transfers and that's about it. They didn't even support the current account and credit card that I use for my spending.Adyinvestment said:
