There isn't really any need to give them information about how you spend your money. The accounts I gave them only exist to generate incentives from the banks, so have a few artificial transfers and that's about it. They didn't even support the current account and credit card that I use for my spending.Adyinvestment said:
I can't imagine what could possibly go wrong with some profit making company having access to all the information about how you spend your money...
That's all well and good, although it would seem some are giving more.
I really don't see the problem with pointing out a little caution, even if it is simply just to do a little research before handing over sensitive information, this is after all a forum that is continuously having threads with people being scammed etc.
My point about YouGov being a profit making company was made as I think their name (with Gov in it) gives the false impression that this is something being done by the Government.

I don't really see that, but I could understand someone having concerns on the basis that the founder has just had to settle with HMRC after being pursued for millions in tax evasion, and has a rather longer record of 'creative' use of taxpayer's money.Adyinvestment said:My point about YouGov being a profit making company was made as I think their name (with Gov in it) gives the false impression that this is something being done by the Government.

If those were the points you were trying to make, why didn't you make them in your first post in this thread? It might have been easier for the reader to understand what you meant.Adyinvestment said:

I can't believe anybody would actually do this, let alone actually want to.
Oh well, there will soon be digital money, digital Id's, carbon credit scores, social credit scores etc... I guess many don't care about privacy/independence anymore as long as there is a few quid in it.

Me neither. I hope they don't stay pointless until the 90 day reconnection!Band7 said:
I may have to add another less active account, as I am in touching distance of the next reward.

Of which many of them are nothing but click bait threads, trolls or students do courseworkAdyinvestment said:

2 separate views why I don’t like this idea, and in any case was irrelevant to the question.
I don’t know why (perhaps I can guess) you would ask that question, why do you make multiple posts in the same thread?0 -
I started this thread, have provided additional info and answered some questions. My glass is half full, yours seems half empty. Quite hilarious to insinuate I have some sort of ulterior motive.Adyinvestment said:2 separate views why I don’t like this idea, and in any case was irrelevant to the question.

I also think people on this forum are perfectly capable of deciding for themselves whether they want to engage with something, and don't just blindly jump into things.
Anyway, this is going way off topic now.2 -
Going off subject you ain't kidding I've been thinking that for a while
It's becoming a silly spat in my opinion and spoiling what it was0 -
Agreed, I have no skin in this game.
Good luck with your endeavour.
